i was wondering, does anyone here know if there are any countries or states that would make it ilegal for a religious group to ex-communicate someone for voting or voting for a particular party?

spiritualism
by Ellie in.
can i just ask, has anyone ever had any bad experience after buying anything from a spiritualist type shop?.
i ask because today i walked past a shop in my town that sells crystals and things and they do tarrot and that kind of thing, i picked up enough courage to go in to have a look and i saw this lovely fairy candle holder, i really liked it but i am a bit afraid to buy it as i guess i've had it drummed in to me that those things are channels for demons.

welcome ellie. i'd say any superstition like that would be a channel for demunx rather than the object.

Rhapsody
by seattleniceguy ini've just signed up for rhapsody, the online subscription music service, and i have to say, it is pretty cool.
for those that are unfamiliar with the service, in a nutshell it is this:listen to any music you want streaming to your computer from their collection of 1 million songs and 60,000 artistsmonthly fee is $9.95purchase tracks to burn to cd for $0.79 each.
first, i have to say that i have never been a fan of real networks, and had i known that rhapsody was their invention before i downloaded, frankly, i may have let that prejudice affect me.

Saluting the American Flag
by jeffk378 inthe other day my wife and i were at a function and the naitonal anthem was sung.
my wife wouldnt stand because the society tells her not to.
i think this is disgusting.

they way i see it, if you dont pay respect by standing to any national anthem, or raising of a flag then your making a political statement and causing offence to others around you.
Romans 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God?s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

So what happened to Iraq's oil?
by upside/down ineveryone says the us was after iraq's oil.... most likely true..... so where is it?.
why is oil skyrocketing.... especially on the futures markets.... the saudi's make the same amount of dollars as what benchmark price... the speculators (mostly american) are the real force driving the price up.
of course no one will ever blame wall street... it's those saudi bastards!.

its not just oil, its about having a foothold in the middle east for greater control in the area, even for possibly more wars. see PNAC's rebuilding america's defences.

Was The Govering Body Decieved Into Dividing Up The Organization?
by frankiespeakin inwhat if the legal advice that the governing body got to divide up into all those diferent organizations was actually a very clever sceem to take way control from the governing body,, and they fell for it hook line and sinker???
anybody who has been in the legal department at bethel, for just a short time must realize the gb are seriously full of shit.
that's why i think either for selfish reasons or just plane disgust,, some individual or perhaps several individuals could easily play on the fears of the governing body to manipulate them to make huge mistakes, like dividing up into all these different organizations.

i've never believed that the GB do control the ship anyway.

Revelation! 666 Is Not The Number Of The Beast
by Pleasuredome ina newly discovered fragment of the oldest surviving copy of the new testament indicates that, as far as the antichrist goes, theologians, scholars, heavy metal groups, and television evangelists have got the wrong number.
instead of 666, it's actually the far less ominous 616.
the new fragment from the book of revelation, written in ancient greek and dating from the late third century, is part of a hoard of previously unintelligible manuscripts discovered in historic dumps outside oxyrhynchus in egypt.

- A newly discovered fragment of the oldest surviving copy of the New Testament indicates that, as far as the Antichrist goes, theologians, scholars, heavy metal groups, and television evangelists have got the wrong number. Instead of 666, it's actually the far less ominous 616.
- The new fragment from the Book of Revelation, written in ancient Greek and dating from the late third century, is part of a hoard of previously unintelligible manuscripts discovered in historic dumps outside Oxyrhynchus in Egypt. Now a team of expert classicists, using new photographic techniques, are finally deciphering the original writing.
- Professor David Parker, Professor of New Testament Textual Criticism and Paleography at the University of Birmingham, thinks that 616, although less memorable than 666, is the original. He said: "This is an example of gematria, where numbers are based on the numerical values of letters in people's names. Early Christians would use numbers to hide the identity of people who they were attacking: 616 refers to the Emperor Caligula."
- The Book of Revelation is traditionally considered to be written by John, a disciple of Jesus; it identifies 666 as the mark of the Antichrist. In America, the fundamentalist Christian right often use the number in sermons about the coming Apocalypse.
- They and satanists responded coolly to the new "Revelation". Peter Gilmore, High Priest of the Church of Satan, based in New York, said: "By using 666 we're using something that the Christians fear. Mind you, if they do switch to 616 being the number of the beast then we'll start using that."
