  WT Library Software

  yesterday, i installed the 2001 watchtower library software on my pc.

  suddenly i was not able to view any and all "apostate" sites i had just been to seconds earlier before installing the software, including this forum.

  having a gut feeling, i uninstalled the wt library software, and presto!

  Circuit overseer seminar

  all the circuit overseers in the uk have been called into bethel for a two-month-long seminar.

  no doubt the us has already had theirs: has anything started leaking out yet?

  My mother's recently been to London Bethel. According to her friends there the C.O. seminar is 75% MTS stuff. As to the rest... she doesn't know. It's in three parts and the C.O.s from Scotland wont be going until the autumn.

  As he's been mentioned before, other UK members may be interested/sad to know that David Carter, formerly a District Overseer, died last week. An end to 50 years of full time service. He was 65.

  i was an adult when i was conned into the corporate cult known as jehovahs witnesses.

  before that time i hung with a rough crowd of guys who carried guns and did bad things to people they didn't like, or who were stupid enough to let these guys know they disliked them.

  Is it just me or is this a weird thread? It seems that effeminate, gay, and camp are being taken as interchangable. They're not.

  And is it bad for a JW male to be effeminate or camp?

  Why does it have to be gay "marriage?"

  i know this a hot topic, but i had some thinking on it i wanted to discuss.

  to begin, i have nothing against a gay man or lesbian woman and consider many to be friends.

  i would also like to express from the beginning in plain thought, "i think gay unions should be legal and do not see why it matters.".

  The thread doesn't offend me. I understand why it's here (the media is also obsessed with it). But it is the usual ping pong of ideas and for those whose arguement is religiously based there's rarely any room for movement.

  Just plain rude!

  we went to a chinese restaraunt this weekend.

  the whole experience started off bad.

  the minute we walked in, the waitreses looked me up and down and started talking chinese loudly to each other.

  Speaking Chinese in front of you isn't exactly rude. Just as is it isn't rude for French or Italian staff to speak in their mother tongues. But if you didn't like it, don't go back.

  what's your favority JW reference from a movie or TV ?

  mine is from friday, the movie with ice cube, where a couple of jw ladies wake up ice cube's character's family one morning and there's some mouthing off, and you wouldn't believe the nasty words coming out of these sweet looking old "sisters".

  Eddie Izzard had a great routine about them centering arounf a wee brown book called Clever Answers to Tricky Questions. He also commented how they work in a tag team, and if you ask a question that's difficult they'll turn and tag their partner to see if they know the answer. The only people who laughed at that section of his routine were me and my JW friends. It went over the heads of most of the audience who, unlike Eddie, obvuiously kept their doors closed.

  I remember thinking it was cool when Kyle MacLachlan pretended to be a JW with the W&A in David Lynch's Blue Velvet.

  Yeru,

  These probs that would arise through polygamous divorce would need to be settled, but they would be settled legally. I find it hard to believe that this is your arguement against gay marriage. Polygamists would form a very small part of society so I find it hard to see them undermining society as a whole.
