Has she tried to get to know you yet? If she hasn't, that might be what's bothering you.. is that she's nice to everybody but you. (shrug) as for me, I'd say your solution is to get to know her. Or to try to take the good from her personality and try it out for yourself ^_^ if you're not already like that.

I got cut off by some JWs today!
by NaruNaruChan inactually, last night... but i was driving to the grocery store and i realized it was 7:22pm, (the kh is right by the grocery store) and i saw this jetta was tailgating me... and i looked a little closer and they were in suits... so i was like "i bet..." i sped up to 40mph in a 30mph zone, and they cut me off without a signal.
then, the car in front of me (also jws i was surrounded!
) recognized me and their daughter did a flirty smile at me... hmm... should i be bothered...?

What are the benifits of DA? Should I DA?
by zucker ini'm wondering if i should just "come out of the closet" and tell my family i don't believe it anymore and da myself or don't make any noise and fade out?
what are the benefits or problems with either choice?
additionally, some have expressed concern over da.

Disassociating is considered worse because you are willingly leaving the organization as opposed to being kicked out... however, if you DA, you keep your pride and can say it was your decision to leave. the penalties are the same, basically.

Grafittis... Art or Vandalism?
by JH in.
when you see a grafitti on a wall, do you consider this to be art or vandalism?
although some grafittis are nice, how would you feel if this was made on your property?wonder why no one ever thought of making one on a kindom hall.

Part of graffiti's art is the fact that one, it's done fast, and two , it's on someone else's property... generally speaking, city property is used for graffiti murals "pieces" and it's usually because where else can you find a canvas that big and ugly as a city cement wall? I think it's lovely, unless it's just a "tag" or a scribble. That's childish "representin'" type of stuff.

meetings
by GirlOnFence inhow many of you, go to the occasional meeting?
i no longer believe any of the things i was raised to believe... but for some reason i still go to the occasional meeting and i even went to the special assembly last weekend (even though i got there after lunch).
i guess it will take a while to completely break away but i was wondering if anyone else is in this situation.

The more you straddle the fence, the more you let yourself stay indecisive and not decide whether to quit or not. You'll go back if you go occasionally, or you'll leave.
I quit going six months ago, when I stopped believing it was worth something to be there.

www.ip-relay.com I'm a relay operator for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech disabled. You guys can use this site to make free phone calls, but you can't talk to the person... all you can do is type and have the operator relay the calls for you.

confused teenage witness
by smias03 inhi everyone, this is my first post.. i have come to this site for almost 2 months but have been too scared to post... don't really know what i'm scared of but i even set up a different hotmail account when i registered... anyway, i'm a 19/f who was raised a jw (baptised a year ago).
i was homeschooled, and basically had no communication with the "world" even though my father is an unbeliever.
my parents were divorced last year (unscriptual divorce from my jw mother).. and now i'm living with my dad and have not spoken to my mom, not because i have doubts about the truth (she doesn't know) but because she was a hypocrit and liar through the divorce.

Smias,
I'm 21 and I just left the org. six months ago. First and foremost, try to deprogram yourself from what you learned in the religion... or you'll turn back to it in a few months, and it'll become a sick fetish...
The best way to deprogram is to read online, and I suggest www.freeminds.org, and this forum. E-mail randy watters at the aforementioned website and he can help you quite a bit. =-) Trust me, it'll do you a world of good. You'll learn everything about the society that they don't want you to know.
Oh, and if you want something to compare this experience to, watch The Matrix or Truman Show, and that'll give you a good idea.
Welcome to the forum.

Maybe we all need to calm down and just stop arguing!
by NaruNaruChan ini mean for heaven's sake people!
sometimes it feels like coming onto this site is such a downer!
i don't mean to be offensive, but why don't we all try to make tomorrow a more positive day of posting.. like, talk about stuff in your lives that doesn't suck for just a little while!

NaruNaruChan
Well, Naru, for a preview of what this site would be like if we all agreed, why don't you go to some JW site and watch them drizzle sugar-water all over each other. It's disgusting. This site is made up of people who argued with the Borg and won fer crissake. You can't expect them to be Caspar Milquetoasts here, now can you?
That's not what I'm asking for. I'm saying, why not try to post a FEW positive thoughts, so that nobody ends up so incredibly depressed all the time. I mean, I think everyone here needs to try to be more positive, NOT about the JWs, but maybe about life! It'd help the healing process, that's all. Francois, I don't expect people here to be happy all the time, for "Crissake" I am just asking people to try to think positive.

Use oxyclean on silver jewelry, just take a spoonful or two and put it in a tub of warm water, then let ur jewelry sit it in and it cleans it up real nice...
Burnt pans, cover them in ketchup, and that will eat the burn right off (acid in ketchup)
