All around me are familiar faces Worn out places, worn out faces Bright and early for their daily races Going nowhere, going nowhere Their tears are filling up their glasses No expression, no expression Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow No tomorrow, no tomorrow And I find it kinda funny I find it kinda sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you I find it hard to take When people run in circles It's a very, very mad world mad world Children waiting for the day they feel good Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday Made to feel the way that every child should Sit and listen, sit and listen Went to school and I was very nervous No one knew me, no one knew me Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson Look right through me, look right through me And I find it kinda funny I find it kinda sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had I find it hard to tell you I find it hard to take When people run in circles It's a very, very mad world ... world Enlarge your world Mad world

Tipping the Gal who cuts hair
by Jim_TX inokay... i may act like a hick from a small-town... but... i'm curious about something.. what is the 'proper' amount that one is supposed to 'tip' the gal at the salon.
the one whut cuts the hair.. i've never really had a good idea... and i know that i look like a dufus... fumbling and mumbling... as i hand a dollar or two to the gal.. now... if i'm supposed to be giving something like $5.00... forget it!
i usually hand over 1 or 2 dollars - depending on how well i feel that they did.

building a house, cost?
by jwbot injwbot's dream house
i want that house.
after doing the budget, mike and i could put a down payment on a house loan.

If this is your first house, my advice is to buy a pre-existing home. My husband and I just finished building our dream last month. $250k was our original budget. Total cost to build the house and buy the land: $400,000.00. Everything went over budget. The cost of lumber and osb nearly doubled from the time we applied for our building permits till the time we broke ground. Everything from the permits, to final inspection was a huge hassel. Nothing went smoothly. Building a house is very, very time consuming, and will drain you financially for a while. The bad thing about a construction loan, is everything that goes over budget, has to come out of your pocket.
It took us a total of 2 years from the time we applied for our permits till the day we moved in. But I have no regrets. Its a bueautiful house, with a great view, and its exactly how I wanted it. But I will never, ever go through building a house again.

Idiotic things only a jw would say
by micheal ina c.o in one of his friday night talks noticed when he was invited for meals at the brothers and sisters homes that everyone has their chairs and sofa's pointed at the direction of the television set and asked why do people do that.
then he went on to strongly suggest that everyone change this and either have their furniture pointed somewhere else or get rid of the television.
what a total moron!!

All my friends are becoming dads
by Nosferatu inthis is a sign that i'm getting older, all my friends are becoming parents.
one of my buddies just emailed me, telling me he might not be able to make my bachelor party because him and his girlfriend have to go out of town to her parents' place, and let them know that she's pregnant.
surprised the crap outta me!.

Nosferatu,
I'm in a simaialr situation in that all my friends have kids and I don't. No big deal though. I have a good job, I've spent the last 8 years enjoying my hubby all to myself, I was able to build a nie house, I have extra money to spend on me. =). Geez I'm selfish!

A call to the childfree/childless....
by Doubtfully Yours inany particular reason for such decision?
i have health fears, so long ago i decided against having children.
sometimes i feel afraid of growing old alone and lonely, but lately i've realized that having children is no guarantee of any future situation.

I've been married for 8 years. I have no kids, and don't plan on having any. I love children, but I have no desire to have any of my own. Niether does my husband.
