how many here feel that their lives have became better and more successful since they left the org.?.
my life has truly turned 180 degrees...been blessed since i left.. i will not go into details but i am happier, don't have regrets, and there is not any guilt feelings to deal with.
Hey Reckless, that's a good question, and it looks like everyone thus far has answered in the affirmative. I will add to that.
Success after the JWs? Absolutely!
I went back to college. I travelled globally. I made friends that are still with me today whom love me unconditionally. I got my family back. I have a good job. I have my own place. I feel way better about myself, and the future does indeed: look bright.
Success eluded me until I left the very unsuccessful life of Dubism.
Happy-happy-joy-joy!
theory is you'll learn some little known facts about your friends.

30. DO YOU CARRY A DONOR CARD? Yesone of the funniest stories i have read in a long time!
not my own but found at another forum.
last week while travelling i stopped at a zany brainy store and saw that they had a blimp for sale.
That was absolutely hilarious! I haven't laughed so hard in so long. My neighbours I'm sure must have heard me just howling over here.
This has to be one of the best stories I've read in I don't know how long. The tears were rolling down my cheeks.
Priceless.
what to wear to attract the opposite sex
this is from the book how to make anyone fall in love with you.. in a study, both men and women were shown pictures of members of the opposite sex.
some of the people in photos wore chic upscale clothes, and others wore less expensive ones that ranged from cheap to downright cheesy.
Think about it folks:
The right answer is: NOTHING
.
heres one i thought was interesting .

Monkey & SYN...as per usual, something to give me a good chuckle on an early freezing cold Tuesday morning.
I have to admit, the 'Watchtower' & 'Awake' magazine covers we come up with, are my favs. We should do it more often. It's absolutely painfully funny.
Good one Monkey, thumbs up for granny.
SYN, the drugs man...it's the drugs! Those pill-poppin' grannies got the medication thing down pat. I'm sure the mixture of pills must produce at times, LSD-like conditions.
Gonna get me some Milk of Magnesia and some High Blood pressure meds, and see what I come up with.
so whats the deal with the wts take on "worldly philosophies" and the "wearisome" making of many books stuff?
on what basis do they make their interpretation of it meaning basically not to get a higher education or inquire into things?
any comments?
RR: you're absolutely correct.
In Toronto, there seems to be a slealth group of wacko-religious sects that prey upon students. It was such a concern at one downtown university (Ryerson, I believe) that there were posters everywhere warning students against them. They had a number for you to call if you were approached by one or more of these 'jezuz-freaks'.
Oddly enough their existance on campus to recruit soon had students off campus, giving their heart and soul to these soul sucking groups. So much for learning. Snuffed out, so sad, so tragic.
Higher learning would obviously be a means to engage in critical thinking, something the Borg doesn't want you to have. Otherwise, you'd begin to question things...pretty quick and heaven knows you wouldn't want to let others know about your discoveries.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
this week i did what ive allways wanted to do and joined the navy,,, well nany reserve is the best i can do right now.. im waiting for all the tests now, but i just wanted your thoughts on the "moral rightness" of joining the military.. im still gonna do it though!.

josephus
Oddly enough...yup, they have one.
It's on the land locked body of water called: Lake Titicaca. After losing some of their original territory to Peru, Bolivia now has a navy, albeit very small, stationed on the Bolivian shores of Lake Titicaca.
and you dont know if they are still jw's and they aren't sure if you are and there is this awkward chat and then a quick seeya?
or is it just me?
Scully, you had me bent over in a fit of laughter when I read your post above. Hilarious!!
Honestly, I can't say that I have run into any JWs. I'm no where near where I was when I first became a Dub back in the late 70s/early 80s. When I moved to Toronto, I think I only saw some Dubs 2X, after I had really and truly left the Borg.
First encounter was a sister from a congregation here in Toronto. She didn't even seem to notice me. I sort of got out of the way, and out of site, this was back in 1984, so I was still freshly out of the Borg.
Second encounter was in 1987, when I flew back east to see my Mom. I remember going into the liquor store, and there was a guy I recognized. He actually smiled and nodded. I said "hello" back. I can't remember if he was baptized or not. Anyways, when I come to think of how much we can change in our looks, in let's say: 20 years. Chances are, they (JWs) would not recognize me; I wouldn't recognize them. Seeing 2 friends this past summer drove that home for me. When I saw them, after 20 years, I realized..."THEY'VE CHANGED" - I would have to look twice at them.
I suppose one of these days, I will encounter someone from the dubdays. I am not afraid of these encounters anymore, and don't expect they'll embrace me anytime soon.
Rayzorblade from the 'don't touch me I'm sick' class.
well now i can't make my mind up...!!
(whats new) over her in the uk, skyone has just aired the michael jackson side of the documentary from martin bashir....you know the one where mj is filming bashir interviewing him, a kind of a me watching you watching me thing.
while i've always thought mj has lost the plot a bit, i do like his music, and this new film totally contradicted the original bashir documentary.
Check this out...it's bizarre, but if you like on-line games, this may be your quick fix:
