Birds, yup...I've seen them do silly things like that. Blue Jays were notorious in our backyard for picking up shiny objects and flying away with them.

Grey Jays: notorious. In their nests you'd find: kleenex, buttons, coins, coloured strings, little toys, aluminum foil and candy, to name a few.

The pet cockatiel that I had posted: Sunshine. She loves picking up coins on the dresser and dropping them on the floor to hear them roll and make that 'pinging' sound.

Looks like a starling (the bird from the story). I have an entire wall of them beside where I live that live in the climbing ivy. Must be 100 of them in there.

Crows are also naughty, they'll steal watches and rings if left out. They'll take them to their nests and turn out to be worse than any burglar.

I still love the North American Grey Jay best. They are so personable, and will steal your sandwiches, and other non-guarded food. I have fed them dozens of times, and they still crack me up. Where I used to live, I'd whistle to one of them, and sure enough, he'd come down, perch on my hand, and dig into the peanut butter and jam sandwich. Or, beer nuts, he LOVED those.

Gotta love critters, great and small.

My Story

ok so chevy asked me to put my story on here, a lot of you will probably find it boring but will post it anyway.

am now 24 and live in kent, england with my boyfriend dean, we are really happy together in fact i have never been so happy and we plan to marry later on this year.

i was brought up a jw from a baby by my mother, my father was never really bothered about it all and my mum fell away, divorced him and married another guy and then went back to the witnesses, he was not a witness and they met at my mums place of work, she was a dj for a local radio station and he was a chauffeur.

Not a boring read, it was an absolutely interesting and intriguing story. As for the engagement, yes...I've been there. As a practicing Jehovah's Witness, you do your damnest to conquer your feelings; thinking marrying will cure homosexuality: HOGWASH

I tried to do that: doesn't work. Imagine had I dragged a poor sister (woman) into something like that? How horrible. But you'd be surprised, in counsel (with elders) it'd be encouraged after great admonishment to read more scripture, pray more, go out in service, have strong spiritually upbuilding associates...the list goes on and on...and/or to marry a sister, as it was thought to ward off homosexuality, or cure it.

I thought being an active believing Jehovah's Witness would cure it, period. Balls!!

When someone says it's a chosen behaviour, I have one question for them:

Do YOU speak from personal experience?

Matt, your contribution and sharing of your personal story is quite refreshing. There are a few gay participants here, and I'd say, yours is very balanced and level headed. You've certainly got your act together, and have plenty to offer.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you'll hang around here. You offer an upbeat and positive vibe. You never know who you may help out on this forum.

i can only think of their teaching of hell/sheol/soul...bet y'all cant think of another one .

eg....blood...never been consistent, couldnt have a single drop, can now have particles.... 1914 return of christ...began as 1874 ...was the beginning of the generation that would see the end yada.

Um...I'd say...(from what I remember anyways) the topic of the 'second death'.

I guess I'm headed there...right now...I wouldn't mind, given my rotten sleeping patterns. Feels like a third death right now. But you know what I mean.

oh after my last posts i had great fun reading the response's that were posted.

i am just trying to figure out what is wrong with you people, your'e response's are predictable and indeed amusing in many cases.

the first hint a someone defending and apparently being a jw and the 3 camps come out of the woodwork with their charm and tact to help a the poor jw realize the truth for what it is.

If the sisters are drooling, it's probably close to lunch/supper, and they are hungry. Perhaps the lingering smell of last weeks meal is still embedded in his polyester pants.

Shucks...if I were there...and starved, in more ways than one, I'd be drooling too in those seats.

a few days ago, i tracked down the only semi-real friend i had as a witness.

i called her at work and left a message.

she emailed me back, and seemed amenable to talking even though i am df.. she made a comment, "come back to jah.

Beryl...I can relate.

That urge to call someone you truly loved and cared about as an active JW.

I have done similarly. You extend your 'olive branch' if you would to a former associate within the WTBTS, to be eventually given the cold shoulder. Shunning - is painful and a horrible reality of having been a JW dub.

Loving? we know the answer to that. Your gesture, was.

Beryl - my thoughts are with you, because I know the feeling, and I've been there, more than once.

You won't be shunned here.

It's interesting taking a few extra minutes to find out a bit of background on our fellow posters. Have many of you done similarly?

When I can, I will add more to my mini-bio that I have on-line here at present. Helps to familiarize and acquaint oneself with the multitude of participants here.

Another thing I liked, although it seems to have disappeared, are the photographs (Post Your Pics) topic. It was long and extensive, but could have been removed due to the bandwidth it took up. It was nice to see pics of some of you on here. Soon as mine was added: *poof* gone . LOL...just kidding!

The Dallas Apostatefest again, the sharing of photos, and goings-on down there, really made coming to the forum here as of late, quite enjoyable.

Any thoughts on your own biographies, or others you have read?
