Why is ALASKA not in the 2007 service year report?
by skin inwell not in the new zealand edition of the report its not.

ColdRedRain
Alaska and Hawaii used to be serviced independently because they were away from the mainland for so long, but with the advent of many technological advances, branches in far out parts of the world are no longer needed... However, this is a sign of the WTS cutting costs because some countries in this world, such as the USA, Russia, Canada and Brazil (3 out of the 4 countries mentioned there would be serviced very well with an Alaska branch) would need two or more branches because those countries are just MASSIVE. To put it in perspective, Russia encompasses 11 time zones, the USA has 7 and Brazil has 3. Most countries either fit in one time zone, or straddle the border between two, but never fully encompass more than one. The Russian Republic of Komi is around the size of Germany, the State of Minnesota (Where I reside) is as large as the English mainland excluding the rest of the UK, Mato Grosso in Brazil is about the size of Spain. So losing this branch is a major blow to the WTS.

Sushi **yum**
by LouBelle inthis is one thing in life i truly love -sushi.
if i could afford to eat it every day i would.. tuna - i like it served plain or seared ( too die for ) or what "we" call tuna wrap (raw tuna on the outside, rise in the middle, some little dollop of their mayo and a slither of chilli - delish).
salmon - melt in your mouth heaven .

Since I'm a vegetarian, I'm very limited when it comes to sushi options. However, my faves are avocado rolls, fish roe (the eggs, not the fish itself) and tofu.

This is the whole point. What if I told you Katie DOES work very hard but is born on the wrong side of the tracks from your daughter. Hard work is no guarantee of success under the Capitalist system, which has imbued within it the injustice of advantage or disadvantage by sleight of birth. Where is the level-playing field of a just society in this? Social Democracy seeks to address such concerns by giving the power of decision-making to its working people, who after all are the very reason for the success of nations. The sharing of wealth with all its citizens is imo an ideal that should be elevated by governments, not sneered at. ==============================================================
It's not a slanted playing field as you think it is. In an American capitalist system, anybody can work hard enough and make themselves comfortable, if not rich, because:
1. Our taxes are low.
2.
If the proverbial Katie worked her ass off and was born on the wrong side of the tracks, she would still get an A no matter what. If she doesn't get an A and she's working hard, studying hard, doing everything she can to get a good grade, there are either 2 things wrong: She either wouldn't cut it in the real world anyway so putting her into the educational system would be a waste of her time, the teacher's time and the school's time, or the school is screwing Katie over. If it's the former, then the grading system works. If it's the latter, Katie can just ditch the school system and start her own business. If she's a hard enough worker, her business will succeed. But if she works too hard in another school, say Europa high and her grades get too high, she too will have to give up her A's and B's to some other student.

I have an ex GF that's just like that. She cheated on me constantly, and when I got sick of her crap, I dumped her for for my current GF. I got some IM's from my ex where she declares her undying love for me too. I pretty much told her that she's in the past and if she didn't cheat on me, we'd still be together.
Screw you, Amber.
