welcome to the continent of north america.. within this continent, which includes also the carribbean islands, and central america, it's not one (1) country, but a collection of different countries.. i have noticed, quite a bit actually, with our friends from across the pond (atlantic ocean), especially those that reside in great britain/united kingdom, yes even the republic of ireland, of their generalities with regards to the term: america.. heaven forbid, i would guess if you lumped all brits in with europe/europeans.

Actually, there's a history for citizens of the USA being called "Americans"
In the 1700's, when the USA was a new country, there were no other countries in the American supercontinent. When people were referring to "America", they meant the USA. It continued even until other new American republics were popping up, like Mexico and Hati, because of convienence. What would you call somebody from a country named after a concept rather than a land or a phrase? It would sound rather silly. It would be like calling somebody from the UK "United Kingdomian" rather than "British".
OH, and BTW, the British are also as guilty as the Americans United Statians for lumping people from unrelated countries together. Have you seen the website for the BBC? It has a separate section for news from India, Southeast Asia, and Arabia, but it has the American Supercontinent lumped together. Since when did somebody from Argentina ever give a care about news coming from Maine?

I'm usually in the yahoo JW rooms. That place is a magnet for religious nuts of all kinds, be it satanist, wiccan, christian, muslim and jew.
Oh, and there's this idiot that hangs out there with the SN awitnessforjehovah who always is good for a funny quote when he's not being rude and obnoxious, but if you're going to get one out of him, make sure to ask him if the JW's are a cult. That's a sure quotegetter there.

2 kids screwed before they got married and they had a kid 6 months later. The elders did the math.... They were immidiatley disfellowshipped... That one was my personal favorite.
A kid from my old congregation and and the daughter of a famous JW musician that lives in Minnesota screwed eachother. (I'm mentioning no names, but I hear it was a pretty SLY thing he did.)
My personal website was hacked by the elder's kid that stole stuff from an amusement park and the kid that did that very SLY thing. They didn't get in trouble.

i am curious, our family was homeless on and off for several years.

Yeah, I was last month. After my mom was singing kingdumb songs to annoy the fuck outta me, I locked my door to prevent myself doing something I would regret. The woman then pulled a screwdriver, unscrewed the lock, and continued singing it in my ear. Since me and my mom mixed it up before, I knew that trusting that woman with a screwdriver would be like trusting Jeffery Dahmer with a knife and fork, so I handcuffed her so she wouldn't try to do anything to me, and I found myself in the homeless shelter. And I must agree, the workers at those shelters probably have to be the dumbest people in the world, and their stupidity is only matched by their arrogance.
