The true approved religion
by Galimo inone of the arguments i used to use while going from door to door was:.
if we would now live in the time of ancient israel and if we would want to adore god in the correct way then we would have to be part of the choosen people of israel.
adapt to its laws and customs, etc.

Ask them this: The true religion at one time believed the generation of 1914 wouldn't pass away before the time of the end came. Now they've reversed that doctrine, yet the JW's are still the true religion. Does that mean A,The other religions were right about that teaching all along, or B. The JW's were right all along, even when they reversed the doctrine?
If they answer A, (Provided they answer) you've done your job, you've made them think
If they answer B, ask them "So what you're saying is no matter what the JW's said in the past, it's still the true faith?" You'll also make them think with that question, if they're smart, but assuming that they're a good dub, they'll still answer "Yes".
And then bring up the Catholic doctrine of the infalibility of the Pope to put it in perspective.

Witnessing to Witnesses: Flawed Doctrine or WT Misdeeds?
by imallgrowedup inwhen we witness to witnesses, what is the most important thing we should talk to them about first - flawed doctrine, or watchtower misdeeds such as the un, child molestation, etc.?
what's your game plan, or what worked on you?
inquiring minds want to know!

Point out contradictions in their legalistic rules and how they can be biblically contradictiary.
For example, the whole "We're still married in the eyes of the lord." doctrine. That's a good start. Then there's the question of "Would those that disobeyed the society about (Insert doctrinal gaffe here.) be disobeying 'Jehovah', even though according to the WT, the disobedient one was always right?
Then show how contradictionary the legalism is with Christs' message of a less legalistic way to god, and you have them thinking. When they start thinking, then lay on the heavy hitters, like the UN and child molestation. Why? Because witnesses sometimes go through these stages when they're getting out.
1. The society is wrong, but they're the closest thing to the truth!
2. A godlike organization shouldn't be so legalistic, but I'll stick with them because I have family in.
At this stage, if the family finds out about the doubts, they go through these stages
3. Maybe they don't have the truth, but they have good things about them.
4. Ok, they're legalistic, but they're still following god.
5. They're not following god, because he wouldn't like that to go on in his congregation.
You lay the heavy hitters around stage 5.

What do they say about you now that you're out?
by ColdRedRain inyesterday, i was on the phone with a friend i met while i was down in florida.
we had a nice long chat about how she doesn't feel as though she wants to be a jw anymore, and i gave her good guidence, and one of the peices of good guidence i gave her was "do not worry about your reputation, your reputation is held in low esteem by people who are in themselves in low esteem.
" she then told me about how my reputation was slammed down in florida.

Pretty much, in the congregations over there, I'm seen as an antichrist, a devil, a
potential liberatorperson that turned on Jehovah and who's into all the vile things. Also I've heard that I am/have/done/been to/said/ an STD, a drug abuser, an alcoholic, a sex fiend, made my own religion (That's true, although it's a tounge in cheek thing.) and a Neo-Nazi sympathiser. (Imagine a guy that looks like this going into a Nazi meeting.)
Ahh those poor dubbies... Anyways, what's your story?
When I heard all of those rumors, I

US Presidential Elections: Statistics G. Washington to George W. Bush
by Shaft ini think this is a fascinating website.
http://www.uselectionatlas.org/.
it has totals from every presidential election and maps of the electoral college.you can look up the county you lived in as a child and see how your parents as well as your friend's parents and neighbors voted.

When you look closely at that map you can see that many highly populated areas and cities are colored red though
One point: former democracies were made redundant by politicians going after big cities and ignoring the smaller towns.

Did You Ever Think That The Demons Were After You?
by minimus ini know so many jws that love to think satan and his demons are after them.
if they were being "persecuted", it was because of the devil and his demons.
if they got an ache or pain, it was because satan was trying to "discourage" them.......did you think the demons were trying to get you, too?
-
ColdRedRain
I once did, but I got on Seroquel and since then, no more demons!
