Piercings Anyone?
by santacruzchick inout of curiosity, is anyone on this forum 'into' body piercings?
for years i'd wanted my eyebrow pierced, but i never got it done because of course it wouldn't be acceptable at the kingdom hall, and my mom certainly wouldn't be approving.
finally, my second year in college, around last halloween, i got my eyebrow done, and i love it.

by yxl1 inbrowsing the web when i should be working, i found this at evilbible.com.
not sure if its been posted before, but it made me laugh.

12: You villify the Catholic church as being anti-Biblical yet you don't know that the Catholic church were the ones that constructed the Bible.
13: You think nothing's wrong with incest and genocide as long as "God" apporved of it.
14: You believe a former high school science teacher's narrow minded veiw on life's origins (Kent Hovind) over a geneticists'.

This charge of apostacy reminds me of when Bill charged the GB with apostacy. We all know what happened to Bill after he did that. Boy, did Jehovah ever sanctify his name on that one!
[Name Removed] will share the same fate of Bill. [Name Removed] , congradulations, you're now an "Apostate". And not a ham and egger like the rest of us on this board. No, you're now going to be in the big leauges like the aformentioned Bill Bowen, Ray Franz, Carl Johannson and David Reed.

Possible Economic Defeat of the Watchtower
by metatron inthe organization collectively owns a lot of property.
however, i believe they are thinly 'financed', if you will.. since contributions have sagged so badly in recent years, it leaves them vunerable to many different factors.. for one thing, i think that the organization was strongly protected from lawsuits by witnesses - or their relatives.
because such a thing was considered unthinkable, something you didn't do.

I hate to burst everybody's bubble, but you have to realise that the WTBS owns stock in many companies, so even if they lose money from donations, they will gain it back from their stock.

What Type of Government Do You Think Is The Best To Live Under?

"Voting for Jehovah" was one of those classic JW comments when people asked us who we voted for
I just wanna know, is it against federal law to vote for a person who's not a native born US citizen? At least that's what I heard from my civics teacher in high school. And as for the government that I would want? You'll be suprised to hear this from me, but I would rather socialism, but not large scale like how the French, Germans and British, but I would rather have it in small scale communities where people depend on one another to survive, and not these megacommunities that we live in during our day and age. But since we live in an age of the nation and perhaps the age of the national coalition, I prefer a decentralized confederated government with a strong and constitutionally checked and balanced parliment (To check and balance a system where 2 major parties can dominate and disservice the people), court system, electorate, economic system, president, vice president, senate and congress. I would have an electoral college for elections to check any politician raiding cities for votes while ignoring the suburbs and rual areas, but eliminate the winner take all law.

So how do you expect to pay for the road infront of your house,
Non partisan politicans.
the police who protect you
ditto
the fireman who are there for you,
ditto
the teacher who instructs your children
My own money.
your sewer service
Septic tank
Clean water
The "clean" water where I live tastes like fish.
and make laws so (hopefully) no one infringes on your human rights?
Most of these "laws" these politicans make infringe on our human rights.

Which Doctrine Convinced You That This Wasn't Right
by ignorance is strength inwhat wt doctrine convinced or made you doubt your faith in the wtbts?
for me it was the 144,000 and the nature of christ's resurrection.
i seriously could not believe that there were two classes of christians when it was not stated implicitly in the bible, but was expected to be believed in as absolute truth.

Nothing in particular drove me out, but one thing that did raise a red flag in my head was the whole Child Molestation scandal. They seemed to poo poo anybody who claimed to have been molested and dismiss them as an "apostate" when odds are, one of those kids got molested for real and they didn't want to admit it.

You also forget that we can grow our own oil. I can't remember where the article is, but there was a machine that can turn 10 chickens into oil in 30 minutes. It can do that to any organism.
So we may run out of mineral oil, but we will have oil in the future.
