Reverse Thinking
by Yizuman infor years i've been reading and talking to people who are out of the organization either by being df'ed or da'ed themselves from the so called "truth".. my main concern is that once the former jdubs are out, they start to reverse their thinking from everything the jdubs had learned that is considered a "no no", ranging from sex, satanism, getting into pornagraphy, drugs, alcohol, rock music, smoking, reading ouji boards and anything else they can get their hands into that was considered forbidden by the wt.
even some decided to reverse their thinking from believing "there is a god" to "there is no god".. while i can understand the anger and bitterness that has resulted from realizing how they have been deceived by the wt for many years.
i am concerned about the destructive behavior that ex-jdubs are getting themselves into.. sure it gives ex-jdubs a sense of total freedom and go wild on everything that was forbidden to them.

I agree with some of what you are saying, because I also went a little bit wild when I was disfellowshiped mainly because it was not allowed or now we don't have to hide when we are drinking or having sex etc but I have found that there are alot of people that have never been disfellowshiped and they are out of control as well. So I think it just has to do with growing up unfortunately most people get to go crazy when they are younger we couldn't so we now do it for when we are older and have the freedom to be able to experement and maybe go overborard.

Never let me down again
by Pleasuredome inwhen i decided to stop going meetings, i text sister who was a good friend, and told her that i wasnt continuing with meetings and the reason why, because of child abuse policy etc.
i asked her if she would like to stay in touch.
she said that even though she agreed with me, she's 'not one to keep in contact, and i'm not one to judge either'.

It is real hard when friends do that to you. But as far as I'm concerned they weren't true freinds to begin with. Because when my best friend got disfellowshiped there was no way I was going to stop talking to her as some friends are forever.

New - My Story
by Skeptically Yours ini've been a witness for as long as i can remember.
cannot remember ever celebrating a birthday or any holidays.
my grandmother introduced my parents and siblings to the religion.. it hasn't been a bad experience at all, except for the time when my hormones kicked in at 18 years old and i fornicated with my first boyfriend (it was awesome really!

I think it is great that you are still a JW. You are doing all the right things (staying out of the incrowd, not going to gatherings) I think the important thing is to be very careful who you talk and associate with. Both me and my boyfried were brought up as JW's and hope to go back once we are married as we won't give up our bonking (lol). We feel it is a good way of life as long as you have got all the wild experiences out of the way. you go girl

It was one of the most degrading times in my life. But I am really glad that I found this site it really helps to talk about things and especially to people that can understand.

Now I don't know about everyone elses disfellowshiping meetings but did this happen for you? There were also 5 elders there and because I was only 19 and the guy I slept with (which I am happy to say we are still together 5yrs later) was my first I told them everything. I am sure they all got off on it.
Anyway has anyone experienced similar? Would love to hear

Lurkers
by Yizuman inseems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.
i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?
how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

Melbourne's first ex-jw meet up a success!
by Beck_Melbourne ini don't know how everyone else's meetups have been going, but here in melbourne we had our first official meetup on saturday night.. the meetup situation is quite different to meeting people off a discussion board such as this...as you have already formed a friendship or become familiar online...so this was a new experience for me.
in attendance we had 6 ex-dubs, 3 guys, 3 gals, as well as 2 non-dub partners.
at the first venue we found it hard to talk and hear each other...so we moved on to a quieter venue where we all shared pizza and drinks and were able to talk across the table with each other.
