The hall I attend has the jw.org logo as well. It was added last month to both sides of the kingdom hall.

JW.ORG signs on Assembly Hall
by Nosferatu inwhat the hell is going on here?
i drove past the assembly hall today and noticed the square blue jw.org signs on the building.
coupled with the steel gate that keeps worldlings out, it really looks quite cultish.. so is that the new name for the kingdom halls or something?

The double standards. JW's can accept blood fractions but not give blood. JW's can have wear wedding rings that had a pagan origin but not celebrate other holidays because of the pagan origins. It’s not ok to enroll kids in extracurricular activities but it’s ok to brush with worldly people at the movies or going out to restaurants. New light makes old light irrelevant even though it was once touted as being the truth. It's OK to watch Disney magic but a sin to play WoW or watch Harry Potter.

Born in - Baptized at 16 - Became a MS at 19 - Came to realization/understanding of TTATT at age 23 - Stepped down as a MS at 24 - Staying in, but no longer a senseless drone. Honestly stepping down felt good, but the guilt was very hard to deal with despite knowing all this is a fluke.

Funny you brought this up. We just had our 1st local needs on not contributing enough. Because of this, a resolution was passed to lower the amount we pay from $300 to $200 a month. It's beginning... Reality will set in hard. Either way, I don't believe the WTBTS is strapped for money still.

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

OMG the Watchtower IS toast!
by kneehighmiah inthe waters are drying up!
a congregation of 110+ publishers will be contributing only $200 a month to the society in the new kingdom hall construction arrangement.
that's less than $2 a publisher!

With all the money the BORG is making, it seems almost impossible they are hurting for cash. I think that's the mindset they want to portray so people donate more. Remember there’s no such thing as too much money. They are just drastically trying to increase their money pot size. They are ripping down the old warehouses building larger nicer warehouses for them to stash their money.

by MysticMage inwell there you have it folks.
they have passed around pieces of paper for each publisher to write.

While I do agree with the fact that the WTBTS is blatantly contradicting their own teachings and showing a measure of dishonestly, I was simply pointing out there is no official obligation such as a tithing or a monthly membership fee for each member.

MysticMage - Still giving each person a slip of paper and telling them to think about how much they can give per month
is still a form of control and power trip. I don't take kindly to anyone telling me what to do. And they messed up big time by pulling this stunt.
While I agree this is a form of control and they use a lot of guilt tripping tactics, they are still not forcing anyone contribute anything. You will not be kicked out or shunned for not contributing a dime. If you are an elder or MS you will not be considered spiritually weak. I haven't contributed a penny within the last two years. There is no way they can verify who is paying and who isn't. In JWland everything carries on the same. I do agree that this new implementation raises a huge red flag among those awake and there is a lot of pressure on the R&F to donate, but there is still no obligation to do so. There is no tithing going on requiring you to pay a certain amount and there is no membership signup fee or contract you must abide by. I feel some here are grossly exaggerating what's going on.
