If some undiluted liquid fabric softener got on the clothes before they were submerged in the rinse water, dark areas may result. I've also seen softener sheets that left a mark in the dryer when they got trapped against the fabric.

Gehena?
by ClassAvenger in.
can anyone explain to me what the "gehena" is?
i've seen it all over the nwt yet i haven't seen it once in my christian bible.
-
Warrigal
I heard that Gehenna represents the 'second death' from which there is no resurrection. Supposedly in Jesus' day, things were thrown into the burning dump including the bodies of dead people who were considered unworthy of a proper burial. Gehenna came to mean the permanent and final removal of anything that would not be back on the earth again.
'course I read that so long ago that undoubtedly there is 'new light' on the subject.

Ladies, are you submissive enough?

Before we got married my love and I decided that he would make all the big decisions and I'd handle all the everyday decisions. So far he says he's not had to make a big decision.......
We do discuss anything huge and he takes my views into consideration and often modifies his decision based on my input.
If thats submission...it works for us.

Do you feel safe where you live?
by Beans ini was just driving back from the store on a street where a young man was killed a few years back, as he was murdered right on the street i often think of this every time i drive back from the store.
his house was about 100 feet from where his body lie in the street and blocks from my house.. i actually feel safe where i live and do know where to go and not to in toronto but crime happens everywhere no matter where you are, you can live in the quietest neighbourhood and right next door the worst can and has happened.
do you know where to walk at night and where not too in your town?

My husband strongly encourages me to carry my .380 belly buster when I'm hiking or riding my motorcycle. I may apply for a concealed weapons permit because I feel that if its in plain sight it may cause more confrontations than its worth. I've always been successful in talking my way out of trouble, but the way the world is going I may need a little back-up. Yes, I'm comfortable using a gun and if its my life or theirs, its gonna be theirs.
Jesus did tell his disciples to carry a sword on their missionary tours....hardly usable as a hunting weapon.

Inactive......??..and on this forum?
by ScoobySnax inwithout the snapping jaws of the majority here, do any of you "inactive" people on this forum who read or might sometimes post, find this place welcoming or intimadating?
helpful or harmful?
is it a better or bitter place to be?
-
Warrigal
Hi ScoobySnax; Yes I've been inactive for about 2 years and I do enjoy this forum... many of the people who post here are able to eloquently express the nagging doubts that bothered me for so long. Others are quickly and competently able to refute the false teachings and prove their point from the very Bible that the JWs use. I appreciate them all!

One thing that really helped me was to see the Dateline expose. Here was information from a well-recognized source that pointed out how much like white washed graves this religion was. If we get an opportunity to see more on broadcast TV (some of us don't have cable or satellite) let your loved ones know in a subtle way to watch the program.
Clip articles from newspapers or magazines and leave them lying about. If they visit you they will see for themselves.
If we 'preach' to them they'll turn off as they've been taught to avoid apostates. Finding out the truth from news sources is a powerful inducement to examine the teachings they espouse.

Double Edge is right, O.F.C. You can cope with it by following your doctor's instructions. Make sure your husband always has his inhaler with him and if he needs to use a nebulizer at home, make sure he stays on schedule with his breathing treatments.
My husband has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and he is doing very well. We avoid smoke-filled environments and don't go outside on dusty, windy days. We have oxygen available at home in case he needs it. Hang in there. Warrigal

"If you touch me, I will blow up. I am a ...
by Dia in"if you touch me i will blow up.

that was the note attached to the teddy bear that the police blew up in denmark.

I agree 100%, Dia. The problem is that those of us on this forum as well as Silent Lambs and Freeminds are aware of the danger. The parents still sitting in the KH may have no idea that there is an urgent need to talk to their children and instruct them how to handle that most scary situation.
The parents are taught to ignore the bad reports and don't seem to think that they are true. I hope we see more about the molestation issue on TV here as that may be the only time the parents are made aware that their children are at risk.
If we picket with signs outside the KH we are ignored as apostates.

Weekly Food Bill Survey
by patio34 inafter reading the thread on portion sizes, it'd be interesting to see what folks spend weekly on their groceries.
one of my new year's resolutions was to improve my finances and groceries are coming under scrutiny.
i spend about 30 a week (now), but when i wasn't paying attention and stopping in all the time, i'll bet i was spending double that.. so, what do you spend?

Englishman made an interesting point. My food budget also includes non-food items as well as the times we eat out. It also includes gas for the car. I too am spending about $500 a month with all the go-withs.
