teaching that true christianity is an organization instead of a way of life
centralizing authority in an organization instead of letting christ be the head of each christian
claiming salvation is dependent upon belonging to the jw denomination

as a witness, you are constantly warned about being a lover of pleasure, rather than a lover of god.
do you fit into one of these catagories, now?
Such a nice way of putting it, Goofy. You paint a lovely word picture that expresses my thoughts too.
well, katie and i just got suckered into adopting a stray cat (we are sorely tempted to name him farkel, but the kitty is way too cute for that) .

hehe.
Actually that stray kitty is a reincarnated governing body member who is accessing your computer to gather evidence against you. Sometimes they wear wolves clothing...sometimes kitty clothes.
i was standing on my front porch talking on my cell phone when three car loads of them pulled up down the street.
by the time i finished my conversation, one of the jws was standing on my sidewalk waiting for me to get off the phone.
i eventually did.
Beautifully done, Francois! I wish I had your way with words...sometimes I only open my mouth to change feet. Good job on 'em.
Currently I'm decompressing from my elder's visit....more later.
second attempt to get thread up.. when i first joined this site, i seem to remember that there were many defectors from h2o coming over here, but this site was always the underdog.. i have just been to h2o for the first time in around 2 years, and to my astonishment, it is abysmal!!!!.
i have come to the realisations that this is the site for those seeking truth and knowledge.
this is the site for the xjw community.. so, if this is the best forum say 'i'.
Absolutely Aye....just wish I had more time to spend here.
Wow! I want one of those. He oughta keep those pesky doves moving.
i know this has been discussed before but i think a fresh thread on this will be enjoyable.
I think Sam Waschalk defined 'pompous ass'. Just hated to see him coming.
i'm so curious!
if you see this, sign your name and your location if you want, cuz i wanna know how many people actively view this!
^_^
Warrigal the Zonie signing in!
.
how would you feel if you had to go to war and kill people?
would your spiritual background stop you from doing this, or would you see this as a patriotic thing to do?
I totally agree with Scully. When you enlist in the service of your country you must go and do what they tell you or suffer the consequences. Its a difficult choice to make for this country's young people who have to weigh the benefits gained from enlistment against the tasks they must perform. I support their individual decisions whatever they may be.
However....if someone chooses to invade my space with the thought of doing harm to me and mine; the local undertaker will be wiping their sorry a$$. Self preservation is still the first law of nature.
i'd really like to know.. my experience was that women who were raised in the "truth" and married to a good jw brother did not know how to make decisions.
from reading this board, this would, however, appear to be the least of their problems.. what specifically, if any, were the problems associated with always being told you were a second class person and not capable of making decisions?.

My mother spouted on about the 'joys' of subjugating oneself to her husband, but in reality, she wore the pants in the family.....her mouth and her example seldom agreed.
For the most part, my husband and I enjoy a spirit of co-operation in our household...we discuss all aspects of a situation and work out the best solution for our needs.
When I was in the congregation the most evident display of subjugation by wives was a spirit of helplessness and total dependency on the man of the family. So very sad.
