I remember an encounter with the Mormons and it didn't last too long. I cut them off short before they started spiel and basically told them that all religions were created by men with no influence from a supreme being. They agreed and left. Perhaps they were part of the fringe group of Mormons.

What do you say when the Mormons come by?
by MegaDude injust got through having a conversation with two mormons going door to door on this cold saturday here in fort worth, texas.
damn, they remind me so much of jehovah's witnesses it isn't even funny: the same zeal, the same conviction, the same confidence.
as a matter of fact, they seemed a lot more of all these things.

CALL TO ACTION: Write the United Nations!
by seattleniceguy inmost of us are familiar with the watchtower bible and tract society's association with the un as an ngo.
this fact has been confirmed via correspondence with the un numerous times, notably in a letter received recently by one of our own members.
for details and photocopies, see here:.

Shamus:
You are a member of the Emperor Class? With such an elevated rank I would have thought that a person with such a stature would certainly recognize a question when he sees it. You must be misplaced.
ITsupport:
Judging by your reply, I think you should change ranking with shamus and put you in the Emperor class. Where would we put shamus? God only knows.

People: Why all the hoopla? The WTS is no longer an NGO with the UN. What purpose would it serve to send letters to the UN when they are no longer affiliated with that organization.

Sharpton?? Isn't he a "Reverend". What about the separation of Church and State?

Why would you send a letter to the UN about the WTS being an NGO when they are no longer affiliated with the UN at this time. Perhaps they have re-established themselves as an NGO after they quit. Is that so?

Do I have to be enrolled?!!! Question
by Doubtfully Yours inas you all know, i'm still a jw in 'good standing' albeit labeled 'spiritually weak' because i miss many meetings and turn in the lowest service time possible each month.
all part of the slowest 'fade' ever known.. having said that, i'm always looking for ways to minimize interaction with the jw organization.
so, my question is..... do i really have to be enrolled in the ministerial school and give parts, or can i not be enrolled and still be considered a jw in 'good standing'???.

Well well, only 1bigwhitedoggy has the solution. GET THE HELL OUT! By doing all these devious things, it makes you no better than the WTS. If you don't like what's going on the only solution is to get out.
I have a daughter that is in this org and she has a practice of shunning her own family. In order to bring matters to a normal family, her sister and her mother and father would have to join this outfit. After 10 years of this it sickens me to think that my own daughter would choose such an organization over her biological family. This is ignorance to the "nth" degree. Get out while you are still sane.

Would You Give Blood To Someone Against Their Wishes?
by minimus inthis subject came up with my mother yesterday.
she is in her late 70's.
she adamantly refuses blood.

That is right Blondie. But, if my wife or one of my children need blood and they are incapacitated, I will offer my signiature to administer blood even though they had told me previously that they did not want to ever have transfusions. I would definitely, give my blood if compatible, and then argue about it after I have saver her life. I would not give it a second thought. As you say we all have our own opinion and that would be mine. I am entitled to my opinion under those circumstances, aren't I?

How to reason with someone who has all the answers?
by smurfette inalot if not all of you have beat your head against the wall of jw dogma spewing forth from a loved one.
i'm hoping some of you may have come up with some good answers to some of it or maybe even something profound enough to get through and actually change a jw mind or two.. i'm specifically looking for points to bring up regarding da-ing and df-ing, and why it's wrong.
i'm dealing with the extremly set in her ways, new world translation or nothing sort of jw, just waiting to brand me an apostate.

I have found that the only way to talk to JWs is to ask questions, simple questions, and keep your cool. The questions should be about the fundamentals of the cult. Getting into the scripture and what it says is a waste of time . You can discuss the various passages in the Bible and spend your lifetime at it and never resolve the dispute. They will try to lure you into what the Bible says, and once there, you and he will get bogged down in a sea of verbal mish mash that you will not be able to get out of.Good luck.

Give blood to a love one without their permission? Your damn right. We could argue about the merits later when they survive. Religious beliefs being man made,is one thing, saving a loved one is quite another.
