I teach my children in the same way! I explain how different people believe and worship in different ways and that we should respect that. They can also decide for themselves what they believe and what makes sense to them!

Goals? goals help me achieve my purpose. In my home based business for example I've been meaning to set up a website for a while now. But because I've set a goal to have it done this financial year I've gone and done it. Otherwise like all the years before I would never have done it And thus my business would still be in the same rut Of not moving forward.
My General goal in life is to be a good person and to do the right thing by others. to be reasonable and to be good.

My JW friend turned down the "privilege" of working the literature table at the park. Why?
by MissFit ini have written before about my jw friend that plays hookie with me on sundays.
we skip the meeting and go straight to lunch and margaritas.
she converted later in life and has been a jw for over 25 years.. she is in her late 70's and has had heart problems.

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

STARTING OVER with my Elderette - What Does the Bible REALLY Teach?
by Faithful Witness inshe said, "so, what made you decide to study this book?
at this point, she opened with a prayer.
"...and some decide that such questions are best left to religious leaders and teachers.

This pastor has "witnessed" to JW. He writes his conversations out with a JW elder. Makes very good reading. He has opened my eyes up to many things!!!!!

Visited Baptist church on Easter
by snakeface ini live in a rural area; in field service we had to drive from house to house.. i have not had any desire to visit any church for several years now.
saturday i was doing chores in my yard - washing the car, etc.
- and 2 ladies drove in, dressed like witnesses would be dressed.

I went to a baptist church on Easter Sunday too!!! I enjoyed it. It reminded me of a Kingdom Hall but less formal. And I actually agreed with everything they said. Everyone was very friendly and came to say hello. when I gave her my background, the pastors wife told me that they view JWs as a cult. Was a shock to hear it in real life!! My kids loved Sunday school as well!

Yes many times.
Sometimes I think that when we pray to God about something it makes it real to us and we believe He will sort it out but in believing that we make it happen for ourselves and then give God credit for making it happen. Our mind is a powerful thing.
