Never knew it was even a problem. I always bought them, and still do. I always thought it was nice to support little ladies in reaching their cookie-selling goal!

Over 7yrs as a JW and I just found out I'm not supposed to buy Girl Scout Cookies?
by Maat13 ini'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.
in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.
really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.

I don't get comments like that. She puts hersef down and exalts Jehovah only. "No need to feel good or proud of your accomplishmentsbc theyre nothing ccompared to what Jehovah can do . "
I ALWAYS hated that reasoning. I.could not understand what was so bad about who I was. Yes, as a jw I learned to perfect long-suffering ... but to my detriment.
Thisarticle is BS. There are so many ways to contribute positively to soceity. Why do I need to wait on Jehovah to bring Paradise? Am I that lazy that incompetent? Being a jdub invites irresponsibility towards oneself amd others. Such a selfish mentality! Im so happy Im out.

by punkofnice inok. i'm a brit as some of you know.. what i noticed with the wbt$ is how they only seem to write from an american cultural standpoint.
not a bad thing if you're one of my cousins form the usa i admit........ but.... here in the uk there are some things that are meaningless to us.. eg hazing.
this was warned about in a study and over here we had no idea what it was and it kind of alienated the congregation from the study.

Btw, this occurswith the Spanish translations too. Idk what country's Spanish they used but I swear I felt like I was learning an unknown version of Spanish, WT Spanish. Weird & yucky!

Suicide - How many do you know within the JWs

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.

jehovah's witnesses do not accept whole blood, or major components of blood, namely, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.

by Terry infolks are about as happy as they decide to be.. looking on the bright side of life gives you more of a foothold when things go awry.
nurturing hope builds a foundation for you which enables you to save for tomorrow and build toward the future and hang on when things get tough.. people dig their own graves when they become pessimists.
"why bother" replaces "that's worth a try!".
