  Conventions

  as the conventions are in full swing, and my relatives who are still in make a point to tell me what their vacation will include.

  i am reminded of a couple of things about conventions i do not normally think about.. one, the people who would protest the conventions.

  some with bags on their head, others just holding signs.

  Idk if the protesters look like fools-- i was always curious about their position, why they felt the need to protest. For the last three or four conventions i saw them. It made a subtle but memorable impact on me.

  i strive to understand things by standing in a different spot and looking again.

  i like to recontextualize things everybody seems to accept automatically and comfortably.. why?

  Right now, Im in a bad position financially and career-wise. I have faith that things will turn out for the best bc Im working towards it. Plus-- this is the FIRST time in my life that things aren't working out for me as I would've lliked. So my faith that things will improve is a matter of opinion? Using the word faith here signifies a fervent hope and even a measure of desperation. I believe strongly bc otherwise I'd give up from the sheer depression!

  Were you 100% in?

  i was baptized in 1968. last meeting 2010. i have to say i was never 100% in.

  there were times i absolutely believed, but i never really gave it my all.

  never liked service, assemblies, meetings.

  When i was first studying I was 100% in, the first 2 years. After my baptism, however, i started to have doubts. I actually wasnt happy about getting baptized. I didnt understand why they placed so much importance on it when I was going out in service anf had studies even BEFORE my baptism. I resented the crap out of the whole process. Idk why I went thru with it. They definitely had me brainwashed and at that time I would'vedone aanything to make my husband happy.

  I did alot of what's on that list regularly when i was married. It wasn't appreciated. It was a given. After a while, it became unbearable to think about him before me when tje same courtesy was not returned. Hence, that's why I WAS a wife. Divorce.

  First, this is NOT a recent photo. The DC area has been hot for the past 5 dys or so.

  I know one of the sisters in the pic. She lives in North Carolina but lived for a very longtime in DC. She used to be a pioneer , probably still is.

  And yeah, they look pretty silly propped up in front of the White House. They don't vote... but are they making a political protest? TThat's why most ppl set up stands in that area.

  Apog-- It's courtesy RESPECT to make sure that where you build does not provide a nuisance or a disturbance to your nneighbor. I don't care that this is a case with a KH involved. Any building owner should be willing to assure their neighbors and themselves that the new property will not decrease the value of their home.
