i was talking to someone about the book the gentile times reconsidered by carl olaf jonsson, and the historical evidence about the 70 years that is presented there.
i had studied the book years ago, and made a timetable myself and became convinced.
my friend would like to see the evidence for himself so he can he make up his own mind.

Cyrus, first time I've heard your line of reasoning. I think the JW answer would be along the lines of "Jehovah can accomplish all things, new lasting teeth would be a minor fix".
This is true, a miracle working God could change things. However, the thrust of the talk is that humans were DESIGNED to live forever from the beginning and that simply isn't true and our teeth are proof.

A possible objection to the idea of humans living forever is our teeth. We only have one set of permanent adult teeth. if we lose those, due to accident, decay or just plain wear, they are gone forever. If we were meant to live forever, why didn't God design us with teeth that grow back? If God gives us the ability to live forever in the future he will have to radically redesign the skulls of the Armageddon survivors and their offspring to accomodate new teeth to replace those that wear out.

I posted on the old H20 Board. I posted there as "Cyrus". Just like here, I didn't post much, but I lurked almost every day. I first found H20 when I was trying to find some information/ opinions on the 1914 generation change in the Nov. 15 1995 Watchtower. That means I would have been on that board beginning in 1996 or so.

how many times have believers argued for a designer but refused to answer the obvious question of the designer's origin?.
I myself always enjoy these debates! They are the first thing I look for when I log on. It seems like there are always some fresh new insights that I had never thought of. I don't post too often on these debates because I'm not too bright but you wouldn't believe how many of these topics I have saved to CD-ROM so that I could study them and learn from them, so I say: KEEP 'EM COMING!!!

I remember exactly where I was when the Thunderbolt struck! I was an elder studying the Nov. 1 1995 Watchtower when I read about the 1914 generation change. ( that the generation that saw 1914 would live to see Armageddon-now abandoned ) I remember sitting in my chair and thinking, "These people haven't a clue-they don't understand the Bible any better than a Tibetan monk" Thus began my slow fade, it was a painful journey. My wife left me and my kids don't understand why I don't go to meetings any more. I try to spoon-feed them a little about the things I learn here and on other sites, but it's a slow process. I don't want them to know that I'm a rabid apostate- at least not yet...
