  I could do with some help please?

  so the elder i studied with called round last wednesday.

  i didn't tell him i'd lost my faith, i just said there are a number of reasons i wouldn't be able to return to either my studies or the meetings.

  he asked me whar 2 or 3 of my reasons are so we could discuss them.. my reply: 1 i think all christians should partake of the bread and wine.

  JWs rely on specific verses to avoid looking at their own doctrines in detail. So for example, Jesus quoting Psalms 'the meek shall inherit the earth' or 'let your will take place on earth as in heaven' and so on, point to a place for the earth in salvation. As they understand Christian belief is that we all go to heaven they can quote these verses to show Christians don't read their bible and then ignore any other problems they might raise with their doctrine. It's easier to tear down a belief than defend one, which is why asking questions to put them on the back foot is a better form of discussion than trying to convince them of new ideas.

  Praise the Lord! God just helped me get a JOB!

  yes, the all mighty god has just helped me get a new job!

  all this happened without violating my managers freewill of course, making him think that i deserved the position.

  unfortunately, there was another man with 2 kids and getting help from the government, which was turned down.. .

  Drug overdose causes death of Union Minister’s wife!

  1) medicine, if taken carelessly, can kill a person!

  this came to the light because the one died was a wife of union minister, who was an under-secretary in un before.

  this can happen, because it was over-dosage.

  i've been running into jws a lot lately.

  some in person, others more by proxy.

  last week, just as i was about to leave home for an appointment, the doorbell rang.

  I live in London, I see them outside the tube station where I get off for work every single working day and occassionally outside various other stations. Really bugs me, I'm trying to forget about them ffs!

  Don't Miss the Meetings - Hebrews 10:24, 25 Re-examined

  i recently got an unsolicited lecture from a well-intentioned but nevertheless misguided jw friend.

  the gist of it was that i needed to go to all the meetings or i would miss out on "everlasting life.".

  i responded that i do not need to go to meetings to have a relationship with god.

  I rarely missed meetings, but I also didn't tend to listen much once I was there as I got bored and my mind drifted. Post-meeting I used to wonder whether this would count when it came to judgement day.
