our family's journey out of the watchtower has led us to see the gospel as the antithesis or exact opposite of religion.. for us religion is men telling us what to believe and do (to control us).. for us the gospel is god telling us what he has done (to liberate us from such men).. how have you come to see the relationship between religion and the gospel?.

Hi Fernando, good post. I also think there's a danger in a spirituality that's too individualistic though, we can learn from each other.

Hey Fernando, do you think anyone who attends a church denomination is relying on a middle man? I think that would be a bit unfair.

Did Christ Put an End to Organised Religion

yes, he was that radical.

im suggesting he put an end to organised religion with the prophesied destruction of jerusalem , the jewsish system, the old covenant and the temple in the 1st century..

Fernando, of course this has sometimes happened, a bit of a generalisation though and could happen in small gatherings as much as church institutions.

If you believe that Jesus instituted baptism and communion then I don't know how you can argue he ended organised religion.

American Rantings About World Cup Soccer (Football)

i try ... i really try to watch football (soccer) ... it's world cup time ... i really do try.. i just don't get it ... i really don't.. yes, it's a world-wide sport.

in most countries it is the number 1 or number 2 sport ... no doubt about it.

it's maybe number 5 in the usa for professional sports.. from an american's perspective (i think i speak for many), we just wonder if these guys actually have testicles.

I watch nfl sometimes, I like the strategy but I wish it would move a bit quicker, in 3 hours you only get about 30 minutes of actual play, and about 1 hours of adverts. If you have the patience for this I don't understand how you could also find football boring.
