Give Blood!
by Laika inlooking for a way to stick two fingers up to the watchtower and do something useful?.
well, ever considered giving blood?
if you're eligible to do so i would encourage everyone here to go for it, the world needs more blood donors, it's always nice to help out and given our history i find there's something very enjoyable about it.

Sick of the nanny state. Polictical correctness can kiss my donkey!

Punk, I must admit that I don't really get the problem, I understand that Luhe is desperately upset about losing his privilege and often attempts to cover up his prejudices and resentment with a veneer of politeness, but I don't understand why you're upset at all.
Firstly because you don't seem to be able to come up with many examples and secondly because the ones you've come up with are hardly things worth getting too upset about. Given, for example, that the n word and it's derivatives has nearly always been used as a racial slur it shouldn't anger you when people respond badly to it, even if misplaced. This is just a case of showing empathy, hardly a 'controlling nanny state'!

I am not sure why I should be upset about people trying to be nice, even when it's a bit unnecessary.
Being honest, most of the railing against 'political correctness' comes from bigots like the aforementioned Pat Condell who are upset at being called out for their bigotry. :/

Hi Kate, nice to hear from you! I would not go back, you only create the impression that you really want to go back and must therefore believe. I don't think you want that... -

Do you have any specific examples of the language 'do gooders' hate which muslims and gays are cool with? -

The " Knockout Game" or a Cowardly Punch ?.
by smiddy ini started this op because of an interchange of two posters on this board which hit a nerve with me , as the title suggests.. i think the video clip /u-tube shown was self explanatory that it is not a myth as one poster said., which was viewed under the subject of the confederate flag.. i cannot imagine the chaos / fallout that would occur if whites adopt the same "game " as these guys.and go around doing the same thing.
which is probably happening anyway .but it needs to be stopped pronto.. are you up to it usa ?.
i am in australia and we have seen a trend take place here which is very troubling.

The Confederate Flag
by Simon inthe latest controversy over the confederate flag just sums up to me the state of dysfunction that exists in american society.. in summary: a white supremacist nutter shoots 9 black people dead in a church.
he's clearly inspired by the messages of others which the confederate flag is often a symbol of.. it seems like a no-brainer to remove it.
not only isn't it removed, it isn't even lowered at all as a mark of respect.. and of course now there are the people who want to defend their right to have it.

I agree with Simon! Take down the flag! -

"We Already Forgive Him" - What Does That Mean?
by cofty inthe children of one of yesterday's shooting have told the media that they have already forgiven the killer for what he did.. dylaan roof has not apologised for what he did.
he hates black people and probably regrets not killing even more.. what does it really mean to forgive?.
if the legal system asked the victims relatives what they want done next would they ask for dylaan to go free and unpunished?.

I tend to say I've 'forgiven' the JWs who cut me off, but as far as our friendships go, the forgiveness is pretty meaningless without their 'repentance'. That is, unless they recognise their treatment of me as wrong and take steps to reach out to me, they can never receive my forgiveness, but I am certainly open to this reconciliation should they ever want it.
Of course this is a much more extreme case, and I'm not going to speak on behalf of the families. I think letting go of anger and the need to exact vengeance are good things, but you can't have reconciliation with someone who wants to murder you, no matter how open you are to the possibility. -

How do we know they're not being authentic? Has anyone asked the children what they mean by forgiveness?
