however, science should not be dismissed so lightly by anybody who values a faith that is more than a mere fantasy.. theologians like john shelby spong have shown the intellectual honesty to embrace the truths that science has discovered and adapted their religious beliefs to take account of reality.
sadly many theists lack the courage to do likewise.
Reality is far more exciting, fascinating and satisfying than any supernatural story.

i have recently been using the expression "people not of our faith" and it shocks me to be corrected everytime by, "you mean worldly".
i dont really like the word worldly because i feel it is a degrading word to describe people we love so much that we try to find them in the ministry.

I remember some Mormons coming to my Congregation once, they wanted to find out more about the JWs, I guess to improve their preaching with JWs. A JW would never do that, for Mormons or anyone else.
Not only can a JW get disfellowshipped for attending another Church Service, they can even get disfellowshipped for singing other religion's songs.
just got to thinking how long can the watchtower peddle the 'soon' story with any credibility?.
i would say there are the oldtimer or born ins in the 70+ age group - they possibly remember the 2nd world war, and maybe joined for 1975 or made life affecting decisions meaning they are so commited with 'nowhere else to go' that they have surrendered to the resurrection hope.. then you have the '1986 international year of peace, the 1914+70 year' generation crowd.
people in their 40s and 50s now.
I'm in my 20s and had lots of JW friends in their 20s and 30s. All of us are 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation JWs. The idea that when we're all in our 70s/80s those friends will be telling their grandchildren the same promises that didn't come true for not only themselves but their own long dead parents and grandparents seems ridiculous to me. But probably it's already ridiculous, and I guess I'm biased.

The tract is called: Can the dead live again? The KM article includes instructions on how it should folded. The talk also features a demonstration on that very sample presentation.
Though in my experience JWs love these kinds of campaigns and presentations because it makes the preaching work really easy.
