  hi, i watched this video and was greatly insulted by the tactics used by islamic apologist who claims he can defeat any atheist or non monotheists through his basic logic.

  it's hard enough for businesses to enter these areas the government once had to offer up tax breaks to service them.

  in watts, california it took decades for city residents to get a grocery store after the thugs burned their businesses to the ground.

  you can see the insanity taking place, when you allow mobs and fools to burn building down nothing good comes from it.

  this reminds me of the experiment of sending out two exact resumes over a period of 4 years or so. One had the name Dante Williams a common black name the other Donald Williams. Dinald williams received 50% more calls although everything was exactly the same.

  Paul, have you ever seen these videos from YouTube? Anyone who watches these and still claims black people are not treated differently because of skin colour is a racist. Check your privilege.

  a month ago someone inquired about where the case against watchtower in otuo v watchtower was at currently.

  firstly the claimant has brought two separate claims against the watchtower .

  case 1 relates to a suit in slander premised on the words , "frank otuo is no longer a jehovah witness".

  The Watchtower are Right About Blood...

  ... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.

  it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.

  they take pride in obedience.

  Hi all (good thread). Re: Acts, the context is the important thing. If you had a serious illness and your doctor told you to abstain from alcohol you would understand this means drinking it and that you can still use deodorant containing alcohol. If you had a skin problem and a dermatologist told you to abstain from alcohol you would know you can still have a glass of red wine.
  The point is that it's not possible to actually 'abstain from blood' (think about it) you can only abstain from an action relating to blood, the verse in Acts is about the action of eating or drinking it, not transfusions.

  Attending memorial tomorrow?

  this is my first year i will not attend memorial.

  to be honest if it wasn't for my husband i would probably be going still.

  he says what's the point, don't be one of those people who doesn't give a sh** but just shows there face once a year.

  Do JW Children Still Call Adults "Aunt" and "Uncle"?

  when i was young we were taught to refer to other adult jws as aunt or uncle.. was this also the case in other countries and does it still happen?.

  was it just a custom or has the literature ever commented on it?.

  They were still doing this when I was in 2 years ago. I think it's a British thing, in the JW videos and dramas young JWs always refer to older ones as 'Brother' and 'Sister'

  Jehovahs Witness Shunning & the Crusades

  while discussing being mistreated by my own jw family last night with my wife, i wanted to try to make her think critically about what shunning really is, and at its root what how beneficial it is.

  earlier in the day i sent her non-apostate scholarly article on religious shunning being tantamount to psychological torture.

  and most witnesses don't think into much about why they do things, its more of a "this is the way we do it, don't over think it" process.

  How do you respond to JW family?

  for those who have left and are still in contact with jw family, how do you usually respond when they bring up jw stuff, i.e.

  start talking about the nearness of armageddon or things like that.. i usually say nothing and just let it pass but i'm considering changing tact to something more confrontational, less because i want to change their mind and more because i find it tiresome.

  thoughts?
