i was reading the february 15, 2003 wt which had an article on page 23 entitled "do not leave your child's heart to chance.

" on page 26 under the subheading "even from within the congregation.

" the wt overlords say: "although your teenage child appears to be in good spiritual health, inside he may be struggling with a divided heart.

Believe it or not I don't regret my chidhood at all! It made me the person I am today and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Sure I suffered a bit because of my misguided beliefs but I learned to stand my ground and fight for my ideals! Not so bad considering. Anyone who has raised a JW child and felt guilt, drop it. The past is the past and you can do nothing about it. Also, you may have raised a child who isn't afraid to stand up for themselves... That is something to be proud of!!!!!

AMERICANS!! A Brit needs help

ok so heres the deal.. having always wanted to visit america, i would like to set up a months multi-centre holiday (thats a vacation lol).. problem, i have never travelled abroad except when organised by the military, so i have no idea whats involved.

i dont even know whether or not to bring towels.

lol.. i can set up flights to/from the states here (even interstate flights), but when i get there i will be the original innocent abroad.. what i need.

Thank you for the links Mr. Beans. I hope anyone with an open mind looks into them. I spent several hours going over them. Some of the more interesting points:

You cannot trust the media because of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. It helped consolidate the media to the point that it is run by a few multinational corporations, one of which is General Electric, a company with financial stakes in the weapons racket. This is a blatent conflict of interest but nevermind that...

As far as the missing hijackers; the CIA released a list of 19 hijackers shortly after the attacks. Several names on the list were people who have been shown to be alive and in other parts of the world when the attacks happened. They had their passports and identities stolen and even though this has been shown to the CIA the list of names has NOT changed. Odd!

Even more curious; When Bush was told of the attacks he continued to calmly read to a group of schoolchildren. You would think that as a leader of the free world this might be a high priority. Maaaaaaybe?

Why were the Standard Operating Proceedures designed to intercept such an attack ignored? Huh? Good question!

Why is the current leader of Afghanistan a former employee of Haliburton? Look it up...

Why are all the politicians who are so pro war so lacking in actual combat experience?

Why are you allowed to bring butane lighters on a flight but not a leaf blower? I looooove lobbyists!!!!

Does anyone have any answers?

Spanking?

what about spanking?

in most of the world spanking (not beating) is considered a valid form of correction up to a point.

that point being at the time it is possible to reason with the child.

I have only had to spank my son a few times. The mere threat of it is usually enough to stop him in his tracks. The very few times I've done it it was needed. I hated doing it and afterwards always sat down and spoke with him about why it was necessary. I did it with great hesitation as I received corporal punishment that bordered on child abuse when I was young. My siblings and I received welts and bruises on a reguler basis and were punched, kicked and beaten on a weekly if not daily basis for the smallest infraction. I absolutely refuse to put my son through that and have always been very resistent to using physical punishment whenever possible. I think I've struck a healthy balance.

Why does the WTS say Jehovah will Judge?

why does wts keep printing in their literature that jehovah will judge when in the gosple of john it clearly states that christ will judge, and that judging was given to the son by the father?

"for the father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the son," john 5:22

I think they are trying to distance themselves from the "worldly" Christian religions. Just another way of setting themselves apart from the world. Otherwise they'd be Jesus Witnesses.
