to those of you who know me, you are aware that i have been fading for over a year now.
i have a daughter who is 5 and a son who is 2 y. in brief iast year i separated from my husband, left the organisation, met someone else and am now expecting with my new partner.. well i have had the usual ups and downs with my jw family.
Iast year I separated from my husband, left the organisation, met someone else and am now expecting with my new partner.
How did you explain this to your 5 year old.
I don't agree with any of the disfellowshipping crap but separating, meeting someone new,and expecting a new babyall in the course of one year would be more of a challange for me to explain to a 5 year old.
My worry right now would be the situation you are in.
i'm wondering what the funniest thing you ever saw at the memorial was?.
for me it was when one of the mentally ill ladies in the congregation came to the kh with the back of her dress cut out because she said she was telling the demons to kiss her butt.. she walked right up to the front row, past everyone and sat down.. there were brothers running to block everyones view but it was quite clear that she was not even wearing undies.. this particular sister was always talking about the demons.
I once brought an 80 year old Bible study to the memorial. When the bread came around she grabbed for a piece.
She knew she wasn't supposed to eat it but she wanted a piece as a souvenir.
Well my mother who was sitting next to her had to make sure that the bread stayed in the plate. They started to bicker. My mother was determined not let the old lady have it and the old lady was determined to get a piece and put it in her purse. I don't remember who won.
Your post brings me back to 3 years ago when I first came to this board and how guilty I felt. But somehow I was compelled to really finding out the "real truth".
I am so happy that I stuck around. I have learned more about the Bible and the organization in the last 3 years that I did in all my 30+ years of being an active JW.
You owe it to yourself and your family to find out and educate yourself.
Please stick around and read as much as you can.
And welcome to the board
regards

i've read a few very interesting stories about people's experiences when they decided to purchase coc.i'd like to share mine and read yours also.. in 1999,not long after we purchased our first computer i started reading material about jw's.before long,i got really interested in the ray franz story because even up here in northern ontario,i had heard about the apostasy of 1980.in the fall of '99 my wife decide to take a college course(bucking the jw trend),and she would stay at her sister's place during the week.one day i called a christian book store to see if they could get me this book.i was very nervous, changed my name and i wouldn't give them my phone number.i told them i'd call back in a few weeks to make sure they had it before i went in to pick it up.. when the day came,i picked up my courage by two hands and took off for my 40 mile drive to get my book.the book store is located in a small shopping mall, which had me really nervous that another jw might see me going in or out of the store.i walked in the mall looking around, making sure there was nobody in sight that i knew.when i walked in the store,i had cash ready in my hands, walked up to the counter, gave my fake name and the book i was purchasing.now i just had to walk and make it to the car and i was home free.. i know buying a book isn't that hard,i do it all the time, but at that time the implicationsof having this book in my possesion was tremendous.. anyways,it's been 5 1/2 years and still nobody here knows.the book has really opened my eyes and mind to the realities of the wts.i would definitely recommend this book to everyone here who has yet to read it.it's worth the effort to acquire it and will take away your fear of the watchdollar.
When hubby heard about Ray's books he thought he would go and check it out at the library.
He went to one across town and found it. Sat and started reading and low and behold an elder from our congregation comes up behind him.
You can imagine how he felt. Nearly filled his drawers.
Eventually he got a post box office and ordered the books. He made fancy covers for them and gave them technical titles and kept them at work in a locked area.
Now we have an apostate area in our house known only to him and me. We have family that would flip if they found out what we have.
The number of GENUINE anointed is very low. It could be as low as 400. This was told to a sister by a heavy of the canadian bethel family. So just remember there may be 5 more partakers at Memorial but are they GENUINE.?????
in an informal announcement at service meetings this week (corroborated by the question box in the january 2005 our kingdom ministry, pg 7) jws interested in contributing to the asian tsunami disaster should contribute directly to the "worldwide work" (the general fund).. the entire article referenced above: .
what is the best way to make contributions for the benefit of needy brothers in other lands?.
at times, we hear about brothers in another land who have come into material need because of persecution, disaster, or other difficult circumstances.
my telephone conversation with the watchtower society, was a sincere attempt to find out what active role the watchtower is taking to help the tsunami victims.

watchtower call on tsunami disaster.. 1-718-560-5000. wt-recording--thank you for calling jehovah's witnesses.. wt rep--jehovah's witnesses, may i help you?.
I was at the book study this week and not one word was spoken about the disaster. Two prayers and not one mention of the greatest disaster on humandkind.
After the book study my husband asked the conductor what he thought about this horrendeous tragedy and his response: IT'S A WARMUP FOR ARMAGHEDDON.
Seems to me that WTS and its members rejoice over other peoples suffering. For them its an indication of what they are waiting for.

To be fair on the WTS...they are not a relief organisation...they have a relief department , however it does not operate on the same scale as other dedicated charities or organisations
This is true BUT watchtower discourages its members from contributing to other relief org that can render real help.
There is nothing fair about the WTS. They are callous and uncaring. And they don't give a hoot about others' suffering.
Thanks Voyager for that interesting read. I wanted to call myself but feared that I would lose control and say samething nasty. You were very diplomatic about it.
