  I didn't intend to create a debate, but thanks to all for your responses.

  One thing is for sure, watchtower's recent changes with respects to the the governing body being the faithful slave, in part, is a knee jerk reaction to the increase of members taking the emblems.

  the Reno situation undermines the governing body's position as" king of the castle". I think that as more and more start partaking, the gb's need for power is going to increase and they will go to extreme measures to prove that they alone are commissioned by God. Its a train wreck.

  I am personally happy that these groups are springing up. The bigger the thorn in watchtower's side the better.

  i am back from bakersfield and i can say it was the best district convention ever!

  the end is coming soon, a few of the annointed were speaking about 2014 possibly being the year that jehovah would destroy all the hateful apostates!

  the focus of this convention was not on love or the message of the good news of the kingdom.

  Very nice . thank you Barb. Roberto DiStefano is a real thorn in the side of Watchtower. I applaud him. He is an intelligent, articulate man. Funny I don't hear his italian accent. but then I am Italian, i speak like him.:)

  firstly, love and greetings to all - i've been lurking here and elsewhere for a long time and have benefitted more than i can say.

  i'm still in - i have a genuine fear that coming out would kill my mother - but i've recently taken the first step away.

  i told a non-jw friend that i knew it was all a load of nonsense and i didn't believe any of it.

  If you been lurking then you know that there are many of us in in the same predicament---having a parent(s) and treading lightly so as not to cause unnecessary grief.

  It's commendable that you are trying to do something from within. I know that through the years, hubby and I have helped a few to see the 'light".

  Marathon service days before Sept 1

  so my wife showed me her instagram and one of her friends posted a picture of herself and a couple other pioneers with the title "20 hours in so far on our 24 hour day of service!

  " mind you they were all sitting in starbucks.

  this just made me want to scream!!

  AAHH yes --I remember those. While everyone else enjoys "the lazy days of summer", pioneers enjoy the "marathon service days before new service year starts".

  I never participated in the 24 deals, I do remember the 12-13 hour dashes to finish. When I look back I am ashamed at myself for allowing my life to be controlled like that. :(
