Ted Jaracz - the Cardinal Ratzinger of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Dogpatch intheodore ("ted") jaracz1925-2010.
about 7:30, june 9, 2010, theodore ("ted") jaracz, one of the members of the governing body ruling over jehovah's witnesses, died.
previously, on may 19, 2009, he had had a serious stroke, but recently seemed to have made a big recovery, giving some assembly talks.

Flipper, as you I feel Ray also touched my life. After I read his books in 2002------Everything made sense. I cried on and off for days. I cried for the years of waste and I cried for the liberated inner me.
I spoke with him on several occasion. Today I was very saddend to hear of his passing. What will I remember Ray for? He was a wonderful christian role model. One thing in particular that I appreciated from Ray was his love for the brothers and sisters. He never spoke abusively about others in the organization----not even the ones that did him so much harm. He was focused in his quest for truth and a better understanding of the Christ.
His legacy will go on even after watchtower is gone. Rest in Peace my dear dear friend!!!!

for the long time posters
by rockmehardplace indo you get tired of rehashing the same things over and over with us "newbies"?
if not, what is your favorite topic to discuss?.

The Jw experience runs deep for a lot of us....so the rehash does not bother me. But I have to admit that in the early years of my "awakening" I read everything on this board over and over. But now the further detached I get from watchtower the less time I spend reading posts such as 607 and 1914 doctines.
But I still visit often....this board is like a comfortable old shoe.

jem from the circuit assembly
by wannaexit ini thought i'd heard it all after spending a life time in this organization.
but for me the following statement uttered at the weekend circuit assembly takes the prize.. during the "pioneer talk"......the speaker said that pioneering enhanced jesus's spirituality.. to imagine that a made up thing like pioneering would enhance the spirituality of the christ.
to those who still believe in christ ....this is so presumptious and proposterous........i just fell off my seat.. it tells me how this organization and its governing body have set themselves up so high .....that they could tell the christ how to live..

Flipper
by asilentone inobviously, most of us know that flipper always respond to everybody's posts everytime he starts a topic, i think he is the only one on this board that will respond to everyone in his own threads.
i would think it would be too much work for me or anyone here on this board to respond to everyone.
is that a good thing or bad thing?

I love Flipper's threads and the fact that he responds to all. I feel as if he is a personal friend. Thanks Flipper....... never change

For those of you attending college now (or at least recently have)....
by 2pink inplease remind me what the work load is like.
i went to college and took a few classes in my early 20s, and found it all very easy, but i had a lot less responsibility back then so i think my perception was skewed.
now i am 31, married, 2 kids, soon to be 3. i work very part time from home.

Good for you!!!. Go for it. I graduated lated year from a 3 year program...... I found it at times challenging with a family to take care and an older mind. But it is attainable.

New light: Generation
by 5thGeneration ingot some info from the annual meeting.. unofficially, the 'generation' is now categorized as 2 groups.
the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....
