  i will never forget the saturday, i was in field service about 10 years ago.

  we came to this one house, a man in mid- thirtys came to the door, we preceded give our sermon the man said i m very, very grateful i dont believe the way you do!my friend and me looked at each other a little confused.

  the man said in again i really thank god, i dont believe the way you do.

  I do remember those articles discouraging couples to have children. I was also present at one district convention in the mid eighties, where the district overseer gave a talk entitled "Responsible procreation". He said loud and clear that this was not the time to bring children in the world.

  I was not married at the time- and being the loyal dub I always was and lapping all that was being said----I decided then and there that I would not have children in the system, but continue to spend my days pioneering.

  I carried this resolve into my marriage---Thank God for the unplanned arrival of a child----if this had not happened I would have been childless.

  I hate this organization for the controlling peoples lives and doing a good job at ruining them too

  ex-pioneer/ex-elder reveals his disappointment/disbelief in wt doctrine to elder/friend?

  yesterday i spoke with an elder i worked closely with just up to a year and a half ago for 3.75hrs about doctrine, gb, teachings that jehovah/jesus/anointed/holy spirit aren't working to well and have been giving us mixed signals (evidently?

  ) ha ha evidently get it!!!

  ge apparently everyone is getting brighter as the day draws near.. since ive been inactive 3 months coming from the so called top 2.5 years ago pioneering and eldering and never missing meetings, i don't believe i could fade and live a lie.

  OHHHH dear Nicholas!!! my heart goes out to you. Brings me back to the years when my husband and I were in the same situation. Him, fully understanding what watchtower truly was. Me, staunch, devoted pioneer. How many times i threatened to leave him, if he became an "apostate". Being an apostate was equal to being the devil with me.

  He stuck around....he did suffer in silence and later physically too. But eventually I figured things out too. Be patient...your wife will see things for what they are.

  For now--try not focus of what could have been or should have been. Concentrate on the now and try to find something in your day to find joy. Don't let Watchtower ruin your internal joy.

  Are we losing members quicker than the WT ??

  reading a thread from just a few months ago, made me realise that a lot of people who used to be regular contributors here no longer do so.. i know that people have always moved on, as the anger and hurt get less, as the wt mind-set totally disappears, we feel the need to come here less and less, but because of the intelligence, insight, wit and wisdom of these people, the board is somewhat impoverished each time one of these moves on.. this is a plea to all who post now, and some who still read but don't post, please do not leave us entirely, the contributions on here are literally life-saving for many.

  it is easy to get dangerously suicidal when the whole wt pack of cards falls down for you.. please do not become a stranger to us !.

  I committed un-suicide yesterday

  yesterday i opened my wallet and took a long look at the (no) blood card prominently displayed inside.

  i have been convinced that this is not the truth for a couple of years now, and am trying to figure out whether to fade or da.

  it hit me hard yesterday that with this piece of paper in my wallet, i could possibly end up dying for beliefs i no longer hold.

  Yes done that a long time ago. But it is a good reminder to others that are still attending and may still be carrying one. GET RID OF IT. And please have a good chat with your doctor and inform him/her of your decision and stand.

  funny times growing up a witness

  i was raised from the age two as a witness by my new recruit parents in 1981. i was born in 79.. i didn't like being jw, and that didn't mean i was a saint.. and my parents were fanatical and still are.. i have an an older sister and a younger brother and we are all 2 years apart.. my brother and i were a riot.

  mischeivious, rambuctious, hyperactive and not afraid of nothing.. we had games over the years.. like singing in british accents during the songs(and during bible reading at family study) and screwing with the word just loud enough for each other to hear.. we used to have armrest battles when we sat beside eachother.

  pushing elbows until the other slipped and got in trouble.

  Well , I was pretty tame. But I do remember positioning the watchtower or songbook upsidedown and pretend I could read it .

  I watched my own son when he was about 7-8. From the corner of my eye I could see him building up all his saliva in his mouth. When his mouth was full he just pushed out the biggest projectile wad of spit on the carpet. This was during the sunday meeting. I couldn't believe he did that. So I say to him: Did you just spit? His response? "YeaaaaaaaaaaaaH" .

  since jws have been allowed blood fractions for some time now, and sice refusing a life saving blood transfusion is clearly more extreme than the original biblical nutrition commandment, i'm now planning to step into a whole new business:.

  blood fraction sausages: hemoglobin mortadella, hot albumin dogs or immunoglobulin salami.. would there be a market for that?

  would it be ok for jws to eat those?.

  IS THE GOVERNING BODY NOW THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE?

  i know the anointed never get consulted.

  but is it true that the governing body has modified the definition of the faithful and discreet slave to exclusively apply to themselves and to not include the thousands of other anointed..

  I strongly believe that the governing body would like to have the title of "faithful and discreet slave"apply only to them.

  And when the rank and file speak or pray for the "anointed", you know they are referring to the governing body.

  Recently I spoke with a very devoted jw who was told at bethel by one of the bethel heavies said that there are only a few hundreds of true, genuine anointed.

  I do think that it will get to the point where the governing pompous ones will take ownership of the title "faithful and discreet slave".
