All those years that watchtower made the rank and file slaved for 60 hours a month and now 30 hours is enough. I hate what this organization does to people.

what is the earliest age you heard someone get Baptised?
by enigma1863 ini was curious what is the youngest age any jw has been baptised.
i thought it was hypocritical for jws to say wait for marriage because its such a big deal but "why wait to get baptised".
i think my step sister was 11 years old.

About 5 years ago, a very prominent elder gave a talk specifically targeting young people. He said that 10 is not too young to get baptized.
Baptisms at a young age are encouraged in the org. A fellow poster on this thread pointed out that we woun't allow a 9 or 10 year old to drive or get married, yet its ok for babies to get baptized. What a farce! I have what this organization does to people especially children.

QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!
by raymond frantz ininteresting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.
1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .
2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

JWs have not "disfellowshipped" anyone publicly in several years
by RayPublisher inif you want to get technical, jws have not "disfellowshipped" anyone publicly in several years.
they stopped saying,.
"joe blow has been disfellowshipped.

When I was a kid, i remember disfellowshipping announcement included the reason: " Bro Joe Blow has been disfellowshipped for fornication". "Sis and Bro IKnow are disfellowshipped for apostasy.
Later they refrained to tell the congregation the reason" "Bro Joe Blow has been disfellowshipped from the christian congregation".
At present, they don't even call the person brother or sister: "Joe Blow is no longer a jehovah's witness".
The congregation however is always made aware of the reason. A few weeks after the fact, a local needs talk will be given , names will he withheld but enough specifics will be outlined, and generally the rank and file will figure it all out.
As for the treatment of inactive ones--that's been going on for a while and the religion tacitly endorses it.
I hate this religion.

WOW! what a sad situation. It's tough being respectful to those who have not reciprocated. Been there!
I am wondering what your mom's wishes are. Do you think that your mom would want to see her family members? Is so, then it would be a very loving gesture to put hard feelings aside and allow these people to visit with her.
I do agree with other posters that getting in touch with your local hospice or palliative care chapter in your area would be very helpful.
I will be thinking of you
Warm Regards,
Wanna
