Rules - what a small world. He was our CO when I was a kid. All the kids liked him and his wife was a real sweet lady. But I heard that Michele died, but I can't seem to find any notice of his death on any of Montreal's newspapers.

It's so sad to hear of these old timers dying believing that the end was coming in their lifetime.

Watchtower encouraging members to go and preach in Israel

an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.

it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.

the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.

This Israel trip is gaining momentum. Everyone is so excited. I know six locally that will be going for a 2 week period. They are to keep this trip secret from anybody on the outside of the "org".

No one is giving any thought to safety. I am really disturbed as some of these individual that are going are sisters and I don't think that they are thinking it through. They are only viewing as an adventure.

for those interested, winston from youtube who goes by the username of watchtower examination has recently completed a video discussing the march 15 2015 watchtower.. it is a long video but he has so many interesting and unique comments.

he is a real gifted man with and the most amazing thing is that he has never been a jw but is deeply concerned about their teachings.

earlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.

many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.

they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.

Yep they will do it. They will resort to advertisements. They are money hungry and will resort to everything and everything.

Do current JWs like to have Bible discussions?

This is absolutely the truth. Jehovah's witnesses don't want to talk about anything of a spiritual nature. Bring something biblical up and they become mute and appear visibly uncomfortable. I try it all the time and I get no where.

Question about the HLC and medical records

the hlc was established after i left the jws.

here in canada, the hlc was piloted back in the early 70s and that is when i had a personal encounter with the men in white shirts and shiny black shoes who took away my right to make medical decisions.. i am not very familiar with the internal doings of the hlc, other than that they hold the jw patient's life in their hands.. when the hospital liaison committee becomes involved in a jw patient's health care, what type of information is sent to the watchtower headquarters, and does the watchtower society receive copies of the patient's medical records?

if so, does the society maintain a database/library of historical medical cases that the hlc has been involved in?

I believe that there have been some changes to the HLC and a new body is in place. I would suggest that you contact the association of jehovah's witnesses for the reform on blood at www.ajwrb.org
