  time goes by so fast.

  who remembers 1975, the ray franz incident, the generation change in 1995, the blood fractions, alternative service, participation in ochr, aid afrique, the historical research by james pellechia, jolene chu and johannes stephan wrobel?

  This is one of my most vivid memories: I was a late teen and was working in service with the CO's wife. I was a really goody goody and I was telling her how I would like to work at bethel. She told told me that bethel has issues too and how there was a lot of apostasy and that bro Franz's nephew (who later found out was Ray) had become an apostate and how he was trying to take over the organization.

  I remember being struck with that as an impressionable teen. Years later when I truly understood what happened with Ray Franz that conversation came to mind.

  I had the opportunity to talk to Ray on a few occasions and I was always bothered how this wonderful human being could be so maligned.

  do you know about specific cases that are willing to share their experience of doing so?.

  it would be nice to believe that when 1975 came and went without a whisper..that most intelligent people would have walked away from the Witness religion.

  The opposite happened, the ones who were smart enough to leave were considered weak christians.

  We were studying a Watchtower article where the Society blamed its members for the debacle ... ''reading into things, becoming disheartened, slowing down in the field ministry and had little time for spiritual matters.''

  I knew of one family with lots of kids who wanted to sell their house and buy a trailer. Then 1975 hit and they left altogether .

  jw family tanzania - bukombe kingdom hall.

  nothing like attending your local kingdom hall in africa with dirt floors, tarps as a roof, brutal heat with no air-conditioning, and small wooden benches to sit on after a hard days work.. does the society help this congregation in africa with a suitable kingdom hall that would have the local members more comfortable with these unbearable conditions?.

  Former Elders Please - Disbeliever recently married to a JW

  i recently married my best friend of 32 years.

  she is a life-long jw and once an active pioneer, i am a 'worldly' person through-and-through, always will be.

  we married because it was the only way we could find a way of staying together while giving her a path back to her religion ultimately, which she does not want to (or cannot) let go of.

  She will probably be disfellowshipped. If she wants to go back, then she will have the arduous challenge of being shunned and having to grovel for months, going to all the meetings and sitting at the back of the auditorium. No one will be allowed to speak to her. My heart bleeds for her already.
