  Just wanted to say I understand your dilemna. It seems to me that your husband put you in a terrible spot, and you should do everything within your power to force him not to do it again.

  I admire your stance for your children, and I strongly suggest you take some legal steps to ensure your wishes are carried out, and they recieve blood in case of emergency before you get to the scene. If it happened that your husband arrived first, and did not allow it, you could lose a child to their stupid policy.

  recently we looked this up, to show to someone who refused to believe that they would ever print such advice.. this was in the watchtower 1976 page 330. it was the lifestory of porfirio caicedo from columbia :-i recall a form of punishment that worked effectively on horacio, my fifth son, when the literal rod failed to do so.

  he was about eight years old.

  he was too insistent in associating with undesirable neighborhood boys.

  In the first example, this is a form of mental abuse that the mother nowadays could possibly temporarily lose custody of her son for. In the second instance, while there is nothing wrong with hard work, the children should have been supplied with gloves, sunscreen, etc, so that they were not subject to injury. I hate when parents get "lazy" in their discipline techniques and resort to cruelty.

  But, if you disagree with a teaching, how could you in good conscience go out into the ministry and teach others about it? And if you don't go into the ministry, you likely will receive a sheperding call from the elders wondering why you aren't going. If you explain honestly that you don't agree with a teaching, you would be asked questions such as "Do you believe the WTS is Jehovah's organization here on earth?" and things along those lines until you are either forced to "change your mind" or you will be branded an apostate. Please don't say this is an exaggeration, it is precisely what happened to a number of people. So, either lie and say you believe, or be forced out. That's your choice. You are not allowed to disagree, even mentally, because that leads to certain actions that will lead to pressure to "take a stand". It's one of the reasons I left, I had to be free to believe what made sense to me, not just what I was told to believe.

  I will admit that sometimes I question him/her because SOJ has said something I consider very rude, and I get angry. Sometimes I question SOJ because I honestly don't understand the mind bending excercices and delusions s/he must go through to jusify their own behaviour as well as the WTS. I actually don't consider SOJ a troll, but an arrogant, pompous and possibly honestly misguided person who seems to have a need for attention that is not fulfilled in any other manner.

  However, I am also glad that SOJ posts, because any lurking dubs who are beginning to see the light should easily be able to see through the machinations of SOJ, hopefully realize that these are also the machinations of the WTS, and see the ridiculousness of the double speak and double think and break free.

  So Tell Me, Do You Think You've Got An Attitude?

  it seems some are proud of their attitude ('tude) here.

  whether it be because of being now out of the watchtower or because of feeling they have a new beginning, the 'tude can shine through.

  whites might think that blacks show an attitude while gays might think that the heterosexual world has an attitude toward them.

  I think I immediately develop one if someone is trying to "put me in my place". I can have an intelligent conversation, respectfully disagree, and be fine, but if I feel that I am being put down or condensended to, or belittled, I develop an attitude the size of Texas.

  Playing with my son, absolutely. He is so much fun, and we have a great time laughing together.

  Why not just play really loud obnoxious rap music,and keep yellling "what??" at everything they say. Or tell them you can't stop to talk, your pet boa constrictor got loose, and the cat is missing, so you really have to go.
