Hello matey,
Just thought I would drop you a quick line, welcome to "The dark side" so a friend put it. There are a heck of a lot of Gay Ex JW's and Gay Current Witnesses. gayxjw.org is an excellent site, you will see that they are happy and proud of it which I think is wonderfull !
I myself have set up a gay ex jw forum on MSN, its nothing at all compared to Johns site and I am in early stages but am hoping to get something good going on there. Please come along and join, the members are growing and I want people to tell me what they want on the group so I can add it on.
Not sure if this is going to work but I have tried to paste the HTML code below:

how many of you out there joined another religion, since leaving the watchtower?edited by - jh on 11 january 2003 20:38:28.
No way could I ever join another religion or organisation - Religion as the witnesses say causes war, the JW's do the same but in a different way !
I am lookin' at my options peeps ! I am thinking or wiccan and going back to the celts - being British I have to go back to my roots which is the celts either that or buddism they are always chilled out !
Good luck to you all !
i don't know where to begin with this.. we had a meeting scheduled for monday nite (tomorrow), the inactive call.
we decided to cancel the meeting and i've been working on a letter to the elder who was supposed to come over.
i wanted to tell him how we felt and that we just wanted to back away gracefully.. so when my husband called him to cancel, he told him that he couldn't be the witness the congregation expected, etc.
Hi mate,
I hate to be harsh - but whatever you do will not work now. I tried to just dissapear from the witnesses, I hoped that if I stopped and backed away no one would notice, this followed by repeated calls from elders asking where I was and why I was not at meetings anymore. They then wanted a meeting with me, I kept putting it off but they started to get all serious on me.
If you just leave it, you will probably be marked or something so the witnesses wont really associate with you anyway, in the end I just got diss'd and was out of it anyway. I was so hurt that the friends I had always had all my life suddenly stopped talking to me, I know it is something the witnesses stick by but were they really your friends in the first place if they are going to turn their back on you.
You sound like you are indecisive as to what you want, you are scared to take the step of leaving completely but on the other hand you are fed up with it all. My advice to you is make up your mind what you really want and go for it, if you are really desperate to keep those friends you will need to go back, bite your lip and plod on as a witness OR get it over with get out, you WILL make new friends, I had to and I did, you wont be alone !
I really hope things work out for you and hubby, it was a rough ride when I first left but gradually things got better and you will eventually be able to put it all behind you.
All the best,
Matt

my name is clark.
i have been disfellowshiped since december 31, 1991. i attended the redwood city north congregation and was disfellowshipped along with an elder on the same night...you do the "mathwork.".
i am new to this sight (about 1/2 hour) and am not familiar with the format of the do's and don'ts ... or even if i should be here.... however, i have a question for anyone...(and i'm ready for the answers whether it be from over enthusiastic jw's or people who understand...or from anyone in between).. i was disfellowshipped because i openly admitted before 3 elders that i am gay and lived this life as a gay man despite being previously a regular pioneer and a ministerial servant.
sorry third time luck here is the correct link
