Yeah the JW's here in England get good tax benefits as they are registered as a Charity - I think this should be removed and they should adopt the French way of 60% tax.

Governments & JW Organization
by Jayson indo you think that the nation that you live in gives "cults" like the jehovah witnesses to much lean way, just right, or not enough?
meaning protection from prosecution, tax breaks, freedom to operate, ect; if could make them, would you want any changes?

More extreme witnesses
by freedom96 ina recent thread about "bad" music groups reminded me of when i was growing up.
my mom went through my record collection, and literally scratched with a nail all the "bad" songs on the record.
in some cases, i was lucky , fortunate to keep one or two songs on an album.. sure enough, years later, as a fan of music, i kept many old albums, and going through them i saw how many scratches were on the records.

My Mum wasnt too bad but when
that b*stardstepfather came along he took some music away from me, took the tv outta my bedroom, took the phone out my bedroom, moved me into the box room, didnt let me watch a lot of things on tv, didnt let me read worldly books and so on.I know of some witnesses that were only allowed to watch Thomas the Tank engine on tv and some no TV at all. Very sad, these are kids, why cant they live like kids !

Organization Books.
by refiners fire inyou know, there is nothing like the pleasure of looking on your bookshelf and seeing all those dub books in their hard bound covers and their pretty colours.
you can arrange them all kinds of ways, putting all the yellow ones together and the blue ones together .then you can put the green graded ones in the middle creating a flowing rainbow effect.
looks nice.

she has lived with me all her life.
her mother, a good and faithful dud, ran off with a 'worldly' co-worker five years ago.

Is everyone bitter against JW's?
by Redneckgurl ini have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.

I am not bitter but if I think about what they have done to me then I get severely P*ssed off which would lead me to being bitter. I just try not to think about it too much.

Cheeses you crack me up !
I am not sure about his body being worn by a cardinal but I dont feel that the chances of him living out to next easter are very promising.

Spring 2003
by RAYZORBLADE infor those of you residing in the northern hemisphere, there's nothing more satisfying than the onset of spring.
this a.m., after working a long shift at work, i arrive home after 5 a.m., and it's pleasantly mild (i live in toronto) and the sky is partly cloudy.
the moon is no longer full, but still very bright.

MMMM I love spring too ! The fact that I can walk outside with a tee shirt and shorts on. There is a certain smell in the air and people are happy. Its nice when it is so hot in the car that you have to put the air con on. I could go on and on but I wont.

Theft of Identity from the Borg
by Yizuman ini had a thought for most of the ex-jws who spent most of their lives in the borg.
for those who left the borg, has anyone stopped and think, "who am i really supposed to be apart from the borg?".
have you ever wondered what your life would have been like if you had never been a jw?

If you have been a dub for a long time, I believe when you leave is the time to begin re buidling your life. The dubs do dtrip you from your real self but this is the time to rebuild YOU !
