hope someone can enlighten me!!!!.
just curious as to who has legal ownership of the kh/ah.
most kh/ah are built with free labour and the loan for the hall comes from the society, which the cong then repays - hence the question.
Yes Good question CM...it probably just becomes part of the Borg...Incorporated as assets? Hmm... guess they would have to have shareholders though......?
.
an army friend of ours says that the armed forces are buzzing with rumours that the government has plans to bring the draft back to the uk very shortly.. at present, over 50% of forces personal have been earmarked for active service in iraq, more than any time since ww2.. first in line for conscription are unemployed males in the 18 - 35 age group.. englishman..
I wouldn`t like to see my son be conscripted ...although a bit of armed force discipline is fine with me...
My concern is more about whether he would end up Killed In Action!!!!!
and I know you can`t have it both ways but at 17 he is just a baby....I would have dreaded to live in my grandmothers day when `boys` were sent to war it must have been terrible for the parents left at home!...

how do you manage?
Well......Air conditioning...lol..and lots of it...
Cars, shopping centres all have it....BUT this is the first year I have had a/c in my home....what a treat! its so nice to be able to move around and get housework done etc..without fainting from heat exhaustion..BUT even today took the cake...and like Giz says you even need a a/c for the a/c as you soon get aclimatised then start feeling the heat ............AND thank heavens for our great firefighters!!!!!!who many do it for nothing..they are our hero`s.....
We have the bulbs coming up (Daffodils), and the Snow Drops are out already, very pretty. We have had plenty of rain, makes you wonder were it all comes from and goes?
Enjoy! Enjoy!...

Its been a long time since I remember it being this hot for this long....(I hate the heat)..its so hot that it makes it hard to do anything ....42c supposed to be today and 37c tomorrow and bushfires in Melbourne..
there are a lot of people saying that war will give our economy a boost and get everything running again.
i find it sad that lives have to risked and sacrifice so that we have jobs.
any thoughts?
War will give our economy a boost
Unfortunatlty thats true....a war does encourage economic benefits and also other `spin off` benefits like the re-rise of patriotic values etc..which in turn again does does boost the ecomony....Look at the prior World War`s ....women took over most male jobs and although times were tough there was a spirit of comardarie.....It is a reality....I certainly think there`s a better way to gain a full and competent workforce but would doubt its the ONLY reason to persue a war!!
its been a pretty wierd day.
its 40 degrees outside and the suffocation factor thru airlessness is way over that.
the bushfires 200 miles away have lowered a pall of dense smoke over the entire city and you can smell the burnt wood smell.
Thanks Giz......will read that ......its 1am and still so hot here and tomorrow another HOT one...my god....can`t remember such a hot summer ...thought they had gone forever!!
