Happy Mothers Day-WARNING-me venting

so the person i call mom continues to baffle me.

anyone who has paid any attention to what i write and ramble on about here knows my relationship with my dearest mother is strained to say the least.

we always have lulls in our battles but invariably something will come up to send us off in a tailspin of fighting and arguing.

Why is it that are parents cannot say... Well done, I am proud of you.

I watched the story of James Dean last night and all his life all he wanted from his father was to say, I am proud of you.....

As a stepparent of 3 children, I make a conscience effort to tell them when they have done well. Just to see their faces light up with pleasure at my praise it worth more then money could ever buy.

i'm 40+ female in n. tx.

i haven't been attending for at least 8 years.

i don't know if i'm df or da or just considered inactive.

No one's personal story is ever boring. Each one is important as the last. We all came here to air our greviences and to start on the road to being a "normal" human being. Not some brainwashed zombie yes person.

We have all left and all had different experiences leaving but when we come here we pull to gether and help each. As you will read from different threads, this place had helped many poeple, me included.

I am in Australia and not being Ex Jw's are here in the place I live so i turn to the board for help.

i have never been on a forum before.

i was very happy to find this one while i was doing my research finding out the truth about the religion & just trying to heal from such a damaging religion.

i was raised in it from birth by a devout witness mother.

Marriage Ceremony Part 2

thanks again to everyone for their comments about what to expect at the wedding.

my nephew did go through with it (so did the bride) so i thought i would give some of the highlights.. the ceremony lasted about 45 minutes we were seated for the entire time.

the elder talked to the groom and bride about what was expected of them.

Also it is good to get them to laugh (at least once) It makes them and you feel at ease.

This has always worked for me.

Bizarre Dream

i had the strangest dream last night.

there was a wedding and some of my family was at it.

afterward we were outside and there was a ufo in the night sky, a long skinny one like the one in the news a few weeks ago.

I have nightmares like that all the time...

I wish I could get one decent night sleep with out the dream of armogeddon coming and my parents calling me telling me to leave Rick, that they want me back in the family etc etc.

I usually wake up either crying or very down in the dumps. rick is good because he just wraps his arms around me and holds me while I cry.

Does anyone have nightmares like that?? How did you stop them??
