i know this topic gets mentioned a lot, but it still upsets me whenever i think about it.
its so insane, and i get so angry that i never questioned it or used my own brain to see the absurdity in it when i was still "in".. what got me started today is the sheer numbers involved.
the dubs believe only they will survive the big a. but not all of them - because those leading double lives etc will be killed as well as the rest of the 6 billion people on earth.
I am so embarrassed that I used to teach this stuff to my bible students and would fumble over explanations etc.
I am probably even more embarrassed that before now I believed the wts reasoning and explanations even when they did not really make sense to me
I would like to think that there was something more, I am even booked into to see a clairvoyant tomorrow scary and exciting

i have been reading about the witnesses for some time - but the information i read is always massively biased against.
it is even hard to tell if this web site is exclusively designed for aggrieved ex-witnesses.
i am at a loss here.
Whoa! I didn't say I have studies jw's...I said I had found it difficult to find impartial information.
To be in a position to provide information about JW's organisation you would need to have knowledge of their teaching, organisation etc. To have knowledge about the JW's system generally invokes strong feelings. The doctrine, control and constant battering to do better (by persons mostly without empathy, more often than not leaves people feeling useless, sometimes depressed and almost always opressed. Once these feelings start to be dealt with by the individual and a more balanced frame of mind returns feelings towards the JW orgainsiation tend to boil over.
I doubt you will find acurate impartial information. You may find impartial but I doubt very much that it wil be acurate the subject does not lend itself to this.

is ac/dc popular in their homeland?
they are very much a staple of rock radio in the u.s. i hear the song "back in black" at least once every 3 or 4 days.. "i come from a land down under" by men at work still gets air time on the light rock and 80's music stations.. i'd also like to ask british posters if led zep is popular over there.
they get played even more than ac/dc over here.. .

imagine when the earthly resurrection will begin, and maybe 20 billion people who lived in the past will have a second chance to live eternally, but this time without sex (luke 20:35).
having to live an eternal life without having the passion of love, and no sex whatsoever.

after reading many posts on this site, it seems we all share the same types of fears.while witnesses, some were petrified to give a talk in the theocratic ministry school.
others were sick to their stomach to go out in door to door work.
if the elders said that they wanted to talk to you after the meeting, fear would set in throughout the whole night.
I was afraid of the dogs while on field service. The very first house I went to had three large angry dogs. I started to refuse to do houses with beware of dog signs or evidence of a dog and was told that I lacked faith in jehovah! I was petrified and every time I had to go out on service became a traumatic event, I would shake and perspire I just hated it. The only encouragement I would receive was to "pray more and to have more faith and to remember the angels were with us". Yeah right, didnt stop the dogs biting!!!

the society has for years loved to quote the scripture found in mt.
7:20...."by their fruits you will know them".
christendom and its clergy has been denounced because of their "rotten" fruitage.believers of the watchtower truly believe that the fruitage of jehovah's witnesses is the finest available.
I think mind control and their authoritarian system is appalling but what s worse is the continued lies that they do not do these things.
Keeping the masses in fear and subjection keeps them under their control and manipulation, not unlike the class structure in the dark ages used by the establishment to keep order (and income flowing).

thats right.. i am not going to give up on this.. australia will have its apostofest early next year i would love as many for australia and nz to come along.. i will keep pestering until i get yes's all round so you better start telling me yes.. it will be in sydney in february.
