Without hesitation if my husband would let me. Love is Love, and there is NOTHING wrong with loving whomever you choose. My grandfather is racist, and he says all the time that he just doesn't think it' s right for the children. He doesn't understand 2 things IMO. First, things are different these days. I am not saying that racism no longer exist, but interracial kids are not such a rarity anymore. Secondly, kids are cruel. They will make fun of you if you have glasses, if your'e poor, if you have braces. The list goes on and on, and yes possible if you are from an interracial relationship. That's no reason to stop having kids because they might be different. DAN- I understand this may be something that you have observed in your workplace, but you must remeber that you are recounting one example. It's definitly no basis for describing every black man who goes out with a white girl. As a matter of fact I have observed that white men treat black women very well. But again this is not something I could say is par for the course, as I do not know every single white man married to a black women. The other thing is so what if they treat her well, isn't that the point? If your'e observation is that she is treated like a pampered queen by these men, than whatever their color, no wonder she prefers them, and I say YOU GO GIRL!!!!!People get so worked up about this and I have never understood why, we all bleed red.

i beilive the only true way to gain a heathy body is the old fashion method of eating less and moving more.
if everyone would eat a well balanced diet and exercise regularly then there would not be such a huge market for diet ripe off programs.

otherwise finding faults w the lives of questioners is the red herring technique used to deflect criticism away from the lack of actions of any kind from your god.
This was just a general statement about how alot of people today are apathetic about the world around them, and often don't get involved to make the world a better place. It was not directed at anyone specifically. I didn't mean to make it a personal attack on anyone in this thread. I apologize if it came off that way.
I will never believe that. I think God has turned away from us,,,,, or the Bible is wrong about God's view on us. Or there is no God. I have no clue..and I pray for answers,,,,,,,,, not money, not fame, not even happiness.......... just let me know you are up there. He hasnt returned my calls.
LE-I am so sorry about the things you have been through. Again I don't claim to understand why some people experiance more pain then others. All I can say is that in my walk with God, I have had prayer answered. Sometimes it's not the answer I wanted, sometimes it takes a while, but I believe he is listening. The only thing I was trying to say is that if you want God to answer your prayers, sometimes you have to get to know him and pay some attention to him at other times in your life. Alot of people(and I am not trying to judge you) only call on God when they need something. sometimes in my day, I just call on God and speak to him like he was a friend. If there truly is no God, than where does suffering come from. If we have no diety to blame, than where do we go from there? How do we make things better? If you believe in God, if you don't it all goes back to the same thing. If we want to make this world better, than we have to jump in and work at it. I don't know where you are right now in your beliefs LE, but it seems like you have many questions, and desire to know that God is listening. It doesn't sound like you have given up on the idea all together. The only thing I can do for you is pray, and I would be happy to do that for you. I know God is listening to you, and I know he loves you. I also know what it's like to feel like your getting a busy signal everytime you want to talk to him. I once doubted too. I always believed there was a God, but I felt like he had abandon me. Everything that was important to me, everything I truly wanted just slipped through my fingers. But, one day I didn't get a busy signal. I got a response, and it has changed everything. -

Blueblades-I do not have all the answers, and I won't pretend that I understand everything that goes on in the form of human suffering. The only point I was trying to make is that if you trace most of human suffering it comes from a lack of love. God even said as much by saying that all commandments were summed up in loving eachother. What I am proposing is that this suffering comes at the hand of man, not God. People have a tendency toward qualifying sin. God doesn't. When you say, well when God sees someone raping someone he should do something right then. why, because the man is commited a disgusting sin? What about when we get drunk? Should God strike us down for sinning? What about when we have hate in our hearts for someone who has wronged us? God says it's the same as murder. What about when we tell a little white lie to get out of an obligation? Should we get incinerated on the spot? No, we don't because we were given free will. God watches zillions of sins everyday, and does nothing. You are angry because you think he should immediatly do something about the sins that you find detestable, but he should stay out of your backyard, right?

What really gets my goat Shakita is that the world is depraved. people have this inane notion that we can tolerate everyinthing and anything and do whatever we want, having no compassion or love in our heart, and everything will just work itself out. Take for example the whole Clinton oral sex scandal. Most Americans found it funny. No big deal. The big deal is that it was immoral and adultery. But our moral senses are so dull, that we don't even care anymore. Overtime we hold up this as our moral fabric bumper sticker "it's no big deal" Well, it is. And we should care. If everyone truly loved their neighbor as themselves, and if we had charity in our hearts, and if we took care of the earth we were given, things wouild be so different, wouldn't they? I am sorry I went on a miny tirade, but I just have had it. After sept 11th a friend who is agnostic asked me where God was when that happened. I had to ask her where God has been in her life for the last ten years? We tell God that we don't want him in our schools, in our government, in our lives period, but he's the first person we blame when things go wrong. It's just like how everyone wants to blame someone else these days for everything. It was my parents fault, or the tabacco companies fault, or the governments fault. No-one takes responsibility for anything anymore. What you posted is truly a sad sickening story, but what is more amazing is the fact that we really can only get emotional over huge events like this. When's the last time that you wept for the homeless, or worked at a soup kitchen, or volunteered at cancer ward, or gave money to a third world child, or picked up trash on the highway, or helped an immigrant learn to read, or built a house for a welfare family, or did anything that would make a difference? I am not addressing you specifically Shakita, I am just making a general point. This world is depraved. We as humans have to admit the part that we have played in that. Is that the end, are we just to throw up our hands, and believe their is nothing to be done. No, we can each and everyone of us get out of our comfort zones, and do something to make this world a better place. After we have spent time, putting some real work in ourselves, and changing our own hearts, then we should take stock of the world and what kind of condition that it's in. Again this world is not and never will be a reflection of God's indifference towards us, it's a reflection of our indifference towards God. I am not trying to be mean, again I just feel strongly about this, and I wish we could wake up from our slumber, and realize what we are responsible for.

Why do people who don't believe in God, never give him any attention in their lives, the minute something bad happens are all about how awful God is. This has nothing to do with God! This has to do with horrible people who want to live their own lives, doing whatever they want, and never giving a thought to who they hurt. Instead of pointing a finger at a diety that you don't even believe in, why not ask yourself what the last thing you did to make the world a better place was. Better yet, demand that your government act responsibly. PEOPLE HAVE FREE WILL. This is something you appreciate when you are free to make whatever decisions you want, but you marvel that evil people choose to do evil things. We are responsible for the kind of life we lead. We make things here good or bad. Sitting around wringing our hands, and pointing fingers gets nothing accomplished. Do you know how much better this world would be if everyone took care of eachother the way God intended? What if everyone truly loved eachother and stopped being so selfish all the time?What if we all lended a hand to someone when they need it?What if their were no war? We were given this world, and we do with it what we like. The sad truth is that this world is not a reflection of God's indifference, but a reflection of ourselves. What we allow to go on. What we allow to happen. What we tolerate. Where we fall short. If you give your child the most expensive greatest toy known to man, and the child slams the toy into the wall while playing with it, does the child have the right to curse you for giving it the toy? We have killed and stolen for wealth and land. We have butchered innocent people in the name of religion. We have done unbelievable damage to nature. We have lied and cheated to get ahead in business. We have hated and prejudged our brothers and sisters when they are different. And this is somehow the fault of a diety who gave us the greatest gift imaginable. But we threw it against a wall, and acted like it was nothing.

JLOB-first major congratulations on your weight loss. I was wondering if you could talk a little more about getting into running, and any tips you might have. I have never been a runner. At different time in my life when I exercised I mostly walked and did aerobics(so boring). But I was thinking to myself that maybe I should set a goal for myself, like being in a marathon, as a way to keep me on track with my workouts. What do you think?

I hope nobody will throw anything at me, but I never really cared for British humor. That doesn;t mean I'm saying it's not good, but it's just not my cup of tea. But, my husband and I went to a comedy club the other night and the opening act got on JW's. He was talking about them going door to door and said the other day a couple of them came knocking. They told him "do you know that God doesn't answer all prayer" He replied "that's for sure, you still found my house" I laughed so hard, and then I thought of you guys here,and thought you might appreciate that.
