  Worldly Music to Avoid

  i remember, one of the songs i was told was a bad song, was bridge over troubled water.

  apparently, it's about drug use.

  I'm surprised you didn't get DFed for having a cd of an artist who performed such songs as "I Shot The Sheriff" and "Cocaine"

  I remember a few other examples given from the platform by an elder.

  He warned us against the song "Loser" by Beck, which had the lyric "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me".

  Also, the song by Nirvana "Rape Me" - and the audience went into shock that such a song existed.....

  .....After that, I had these two songs stuck in my head. I owned both of them :)

  Has anyone played a JW song backwards?

  some modern music has had subliminal messages encripted into it.

  some people may or may not believe that, but i'm sure the wts has written of the 'danger' of subliminals in rock music etc.

  has anyone ever tested the wts kingdom melodies to see if that has any subliminal messages?

  crisis of conscience has just been delivered by mail to my office.

  i wouldn't dare let it be delivered to home in case my wife found out.. i am still "in", so the question is, should i read it?

  and if so, are my days as a jw numbered?.

  Haven't read it yet. I'm hoping to eventually locate a copy for myself. Last time I checked into ordering a copy, it was temporarily out of print. However, I'll have to try again, perhaps tonight.

  I didn't even hear about the book until a few months ago when I stumbled onto this site. From what I've read, it sounds like a hell of a good read.

  I enjoy just being a bible study. No commitments, no nothing. That changed when I was eventually forced into becoming an unbaptized publisher.

  those boys in writing have done it again.

  the next issue of awake will feature the benefits of pursuing a career in waitressing to allow more time for the full time ministry.

  Bathroom breaks

  i remember watching people so well back when i was growing up and going to the meetings.

  one thing as i look back on was the ban on the bathroom.. you just did not leave your seat to use the bathroom.

  you went before the meeting started, or after.

  I remember the looks I used to get from people. They would give you that smile - you know, the one that says "You know better than that". I used to get up for a drink of water a lot, so I could get the feeling back in my butt.
