General apology
by Simon in.
i started a topic earlier with the best of intentions and it seems i have angered many people.. i would like to apologise and say again that it wasn't my intention to cause offense - i though the commentary, comparison and the links between the events on the same anniversary were quite interesting and worth noting with lessons that could be learnt.. i'm sorry that some people saw it a different way and hope that we can agree to disagree on this one and not fall out.. i understand that this is a sensitive day for many and that i may misunderstand the way people handle this in the usa compared to how it is marked over here.. - simon

I think Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are the best!
This is my dog Sandy when we'd had him about 6months and he was 6 years old when the pic was taken: believe it or not he'd *already* lost weight (we got him in November '91 from some JWs in our congregation). He got fit and lived nearly 10 years with us, until he went "funny" all of a sudden and died 3 years ago today (*that* day just got better and better, huh? :( )
I don't think I have a pic on the computer of him all slim and gorgeous, so you can all laugh at fatso: -

Problem recieving Watchtower & Awake "again"
by Dolllie ini posted earlier in the summer about some "racist" witnesses who told me that i could not recieve the watchtower & awake magazines, or attend the kingdom hall, because i was black & blacks were not able to understand the bible, "it was not for them".. i wrote a letter to the watchtower society & got a response!.
i moved out of that immediate area, a couple of towns(about 40 minutes away).
i contacted the watchtower society after moving here to have someone bring me the watchtower & awake.

Don't worry - there's nothing of worth in the Awake or WT anyway.
Perhaps she didn't offer one *because* she did not have another copy?
Most likely she threw them out!
Why didn't you ask if you could have them then: when she said she was avoiding the JWs?
"What is with this ONLY FOR WHITES BIT in this area of CT.?"
I don't think everyone is out to get you... racism is *certainly* not something taught by the WT. -

Flying on 9/11---hope my honey will be ok
by codeblue inwell, nodenial is about to load a plan, heading home after a week of work.
he said there were only 10 planned on this flight because it is 9/11.
as i thought about it, that date brought a lot of pain and suffering and each year that date is a memory of that fatefull twin towers fall.

It's probably the safest day to fly. I read an article on a Norwegian news site that a lot feel it's safer today ("won't happen twice") and Norwegian flights are packed and airlines have put prices up (I don't approve of that :() I know it's *Norway*, but the idea is the same.
He'll be fine - ((((codeblue)))) -

It was interesting to see that a black man came to the rescue of the girl.
Why?
It would have been interesting if someone who was bright blue with purple dots had come to her rescue. -

I always read in the bath - as in I'll stay in there for hours and finish a novel.
The only down-side is books getting wavy and fanned from the moisture in the air - occasionally library books: eep! -

I left school at age 14 due to an illness I've *still* got. I have just begun an online English course to try and get a GCSE: the exams 16 year-olds take here.

What grammatical errors bug you the most?
by poppers infor me it's the use of : .
it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.
there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

I will mention one not mentioned before though: when people say 'In Jesusez day' instead of 'In Jesus' day' or similar.
IIRC, Jesus' is right, Jesus's is wrong - *however* it's only for Jesus or something; James' and James's are actually both correct.
The toothy "zusses" sound that's made with a "s's" is irritating though!
