Imagine it:
Elder: What's the matter, Gavin?
Gavin: Brother Jackson touched me.
Elder: Did anyone see this happen?
Gavin: Well, no. Of course not.
Elder: *Shrugs*

Would Michael Jackson be in all this legal trouble if he stayed a JW?
by booker-t inas you posters know my mom has been a "devout" jw for over 40 years and just won't bend when it comes to the faults of the wts.
i have talked until i was blue in the face for over 10 years since da'd myself in 1993 but just can't crack my mom.
well she made another ridiculous comment to me the other day in her attempts to get me "reinstated" back as a jw.

after reading each of the following verses ask yourself, what does that verse mean?.

To make it not screw up your paragraphs you need to click on the box labelled "Automatic Cr/Lf".

If Michael had stayed a JW and only molested JW boys none of this pesky court stuff would have even happened, would it?!

The Bible Students as a Healthy Alternative
by jgnat in.
for some exiting jw's, they are "true believers" as far as some of the key doctrines of the wtbts are concerned, but they feel trapped in an organization that seems far removed from its original principles.. do you think the bible students are a relatively healthy alternative to the wts machine?.

But if they believe the old Russell teachings, then do they still believe the *crazy* pyramids and aluminium nonsense?

i was doing some research for a novel i'm writing, and came across this article.
while i pride myself on being open minded, this one is just a bit over the edge without proof.. http://www.reptilianagenda.com/exp/e122299a.shtml.

I've seen that story posted here in a normal thread, not a link, a few years ago - maybe the author used to visit here?
David Icke, and anyone who takes him seriously, needs serious help. -

Not particularly bothered about a possible eternity. If there was no reward or punishment after death, would you serve God? If serving God = doing good deeds and trying to live a good life, then I'm doing it already. I'll take my chances.
1/ Thoroughly look at the contradictions you see again to see if it is really contradictory or whether the contexts are different
Nice long list of contradictory parts of the Bible.
Just out of interest: The Israelites went on bloody rampages: killing the civillians and kidnapping the virgin girls. Lovely. Just out of interest, if God sent *you* and your church group to lay waste to a neighbouring town NOW - would *you* kill the women, children, and elderly because you were commanded and they had the wrong God? How would you go about it? Gotta be pretty easy to kill a baby or toddler, but you've got to *chase* the bigger kids and adults. And that screaming and pleading would have to be distracting.
Also out of interest, if that is your belief why do you participate in this forum..?
Because this currently is a fourm ABOUT Jehovah's Witnesses, not FOR Jehovah's Witnesses. I am an exJW, I am interested in them, and my mum is a current JW. There are people of many beliefs here. If you don't see why exJWs might need to talk about their experiences then you don't know ANYTHING about the JW cult. -

I don't find it difficult to stand up and argue my point of view in a crowd - even if I am the minority. I think that at least partly comes from *having* to defend my point of view (faith) at school, etc.

Sorry for misunderstanding...
Sorry for being confusing.
It is sad you do not believe in the bible probably because of what you have probably been exposed to as a JW...Could you tell me your reasons for not believing the bible (and I mean uncorrupted versions unlike the twisted and distorted copies the JW's use).
By "uncorrupted" do you mean the original Hebrew and Greek?
I didn't stop believing in God because of the JWs - in fact my faith was STRONGER, because I thought "I can't take my disappointment (in not having the true religion) out on God." and I turned to the Bible with an open heart and mind. I was horrified by its contradictions, nonsense and bloodshed. That's what stopped me *loving* God, I don't care if he exists or not (though I believe he doesn't) because he doesn't deserve worship.
