Yeah I said to mum - where was her God when her sister got murdered?!
Jehovah loves tennis.
yep, as pis#*ed off as she obviously was at losing to a young russian..............did i say lose????????
sorry, i meant got thrashed................she then proceeded in her speech to say "and i thank my god jehovah for getting me here.
" or something to that effect!

i use a cell all the time.
some states want to outlaw the use of these phones while driving....got an opinion on that?
?
It's outlawed here, and it should be - if a person's conversation is that important, they should pull over.
I *need* a puppy! Unfortunately our previous (and only) dog was *so* naughty (we got him at 6 so not all our fault!) mum said *never again*!
our small town (2,500) weekly newspaper has an small article tucked on the bottom of the back page.
it shares with everyone that the jw's are presenting a series of more than 200 conventions across the us centering on the theme "walk with god".
people of all faiths are invited to 2 of the 3 day events.
So "people of all faiths" are welcome to attend (to be jumped on to be converted/interrogated no doubt) yet JWs are *forbidden* from attending inter-faith events... hmm...
what was the very first thing that "stumbled" you?
mine was: i was about 5 or 6 years old and of course i used to find it really hard to find things in my bible at meetings (couldn't find the books quick enough before they moved onto the next paragraph and used to get frustrated).
i had the idea to make little tabs for the edges of the pages so i could tell where the books were - so i asked mum to help me neatly write out the book names on tiny slips of paper and tape them inside.
I can't stand that term, "stumbled." ick.
Hehe yup.
Everyone's stories are so awful - (((((((((((((Everyone)))))))))))))

I had the idea to make little tabs for the edges of the pages so I could tell where the books were - so I asked mum to help me neatly write out the book names on tiny slips of paper and tape them inside. I only taped in about 10 (Matthew to John, Psalms and Proverbs, and Revelation then started at the beginning) before the next meeting as writing tiny and neat when you're only little is hard work!
At the bookstudy the conductor noticed and went absolutely bonkers that I'd done that to the Bible! I was heartbroken as I was trying to be better at the meetings and that's why I had the idea in the first place. Mum was fuming at him though, but what could she do as a fairly new JW and totally taken in by it all.
When we got home I took my little plastic kiddy scissors and cut off all the tabs. I was so *embarrassed* to have got into trouble and I felt so *guilty* that I had upset Jehovah with my tiny pieces of paper, but I had the feeling inside that it was the *Elder's* fault that I was upset, and it was the first time I thought about the "mean people" in the Truth?.
when i discovered - only recently - the the masthead of the awake was changed in 1995 to eliminate "our creators promise" i found it apalling.
it was a promise people!!
i am curious, did the wtbts write articles or discuss this radical change or did they just slip it in?
I took it further and wrote to the WTBTS about it and they sent me, like 5 months later, a cheap excuse letter saying that the original outline read 'might never', not 'will never'. Yeah, right!
I read on here yesterday or the day before the *first* title *was* "Millions Now Living May Never Die" but almost immediately after they must've been feeling more confident as it was *changed* to "Millions Now Living *Will* Never Die". Can't think of the thread though.
just had jws over.
one of them (been in all of about 4 years) said "you can be sure no true christians have died due to famine" like therefore it didn't matter who did - i thought i was going to throw up... i told him that was an evil thing to say and out came the bible about the lillies of the field and manna in the desert.. .
ugh.
Oh and also if Jehovah is in the business of throwing sandwiches at faithful poor people, why doesn't he pull faithful people out of the way of runaway trucks or y'know protect faithful little kids from faithful-JW pedophiles?
I'm so relieved I'm not being poisoned by the WT - I never thought anything as terrible as that about fellow human beings when I was in (y'know, apart from hoping 6 billion of them would be blown to smithereens to I could play with a lion).

Yeah, I said "What about the Holocaust and all the other persecution?" - none of that counts as starving to death apparently as "We can expect to be jailed or killed for our beliefs"
The newbie brother also said (when I brought up failed prophecy) "I know a brother who lives down South who had to sell his house and move into a mobile home because he didn't arrange a pension because he expected Armageddon to arrive before he retired. The Society didn't tell him not to get a pension, he doesn't blame Jehovah, he's still a Witness."
It's insanity.
Thanks for the WT article Latte. No he's not called Graham, Qwerty, but I know who you mean I think.

LOL Elsewhere I was really down about it and you cheered me up with that! Will construct some sort of trap... :)
Avishai - yep, I said prove it - he said I couldn't prove that JWs *have* died wanting basic food and supplies! FFS!
