It's stating the obvious, but it made me realise that her husband could been alive and still able to be living a fairly active life *now* had he not been murdered. It seemed like a long time ago to me (being before I was born) but it really wasn't.

Do you know of gross mistranslations in the JW Bible (NWT)

for all you that have studied the subject what are some big distortions of the original scriptures hebrew and greek, that are to be found in the jw bible (nwt)?

i found that at 1 thessalonians 4:15-17 it says that the living christians in the final days will be snatched up as soon as the dead ones get resurrected.

that blows up the jw belief that the said resurrection occured in 1918 because they weren't taken up at the same time.

it's funny how "split-personalitied" i am on some things.

i'm not really a neat person.

but there are things that i am very anal about.

I can't eat small sweets/food items in even numbers. I first noticed this when I was little and we had Weetos and I was OK if there were lots of them and I'd just started eating, but if I could see how many were on my spoon, it *had* to be an odd number. The idea of eating M&Ms in even numbers makes me very very worried.

I can't eat off a plate with a pattern on it because I'm convinced the pattern part won't be clean.

If somebody else uses one of my mugs I *never* use it again, even if it's my favourite mug it just goes right in the back of the cupboard.

It's absolutely horrific.

Men like this guy and Scott Petersen deserve to be punished day in and day out, by a man named Bubba.

Last night the police said they were talking to the husband/father - but that he was only a "potential witness" *not* a suspect. He wasn't in the country.

Let's wait and see what the police discover before Bubba gets involved!

I agree it's to do with crowd-control, but I still think it's idiotic and very sad the crowd was there in the first place.

I'm aware that stampedes and crushes can happen anywhere, we had 96 Liverpool football supporters die in my city due to serious errors in policing and dangerous fencing.

It still doesn't make the stoning part of the Hajj any less stupid or the Saudi authorities any less feckless.

It's so awful for those who die/get hurt or get seperated from family and friends (neighbour's aunt and uncle went with family the other year and the elderly mother got seperated from the group for about 36 hours and no-one knew if she was alive or dead). But yeah, I suppose they die happy and their families get some comfort from it... :\

If it's not a stampede it's fires ripping through tent accomodation. I know it's an incredible amount of people who go, but you'd think there'd be better stewarding - especially given the fact there's *stones* being chucked about as a matter of ritual.

What ridiculous and reckless things people do to make their invisible sky-daddy happy.
