A rather slobbish friend I was working with on the doors decided to let a fart rip, assuming that the householder was out after no reply for a while. Then the door opened.....

survey of who answers up
by Noumenon ina close friend of mine who is a faithful dub told me today that he had recently been asked by one of the elders to record the number of persons in the congo who had answered up during the watchtower.
no names were to be recorded, just the number of individuals out of the whole congo that had answered up.
i've never heard of this before, despite being raised a jw?

I've never heard of this before, despite being raised a JW? Do you think it's just an ad hoc thing, an idea just by that elder/congo/CO, or could it be a new trend tracking policy for the whole org?

Could be a revamped UN with more teeth (ala e-watchman's theories), but personally I think it will be China or a Chino/Russian combine that will be the final version of the King of the North. Those countries are already athiest so it fits.

2034 - A Future History of Jehovah's Witnesses
by slimboyfat ini don't know what i am talking about... read this post at your peril.
back in the 1960s there was, seemingly, a brief period of relaxation in authoritarianism among jehovah's witnesses.
those who have read raymond franz's 'crisis of conscience' will have heard the story about dan sydlik's remark about the need to 'open some windows to let some air in here'.

Nah it won't be 2012 where the crowd will start to really notice that the emperor is not wearing any clothes, it will be 2015. If the 'end' is not here by 2014 a goodly number of dubs will start thinking "Hang on...it's 100 years since Christ started 'reigning' and yet the politicians & Satan still rule the world (Jesus must be co-ruling the world with Satan, go figure)...what the feck! Something smells way fishy here! Feck this I'm outta here!"

"True worship is back again
Today, we see the reign of the 7th King of Bible prophecy, Anglo-America, continue to dominate the world. This king will only be in place for a ?short while? according to
Revelation 17:10 . Already the infrastructure of the final 8th King is in place ? waiting for its ?one hour? of rule (
Revelation 17:12 ). At this critical point, prior to the start of Jesus presence, only Jehovah?s Witnesses fit the requirements of a people for Jehovah. Although the original Christian congregation all fell away into apostasy, worship of the true God has emerged once again. Jehovah has a people for his name ? just as prophecy said there would exist prior to the Time of the End." (From www.jehovahsjudgement.com)I'm not aware of any prophecy that foretells that God would create a 'people for his name' prior to the time of the end, are you? The apostle Peter in Acts 2, or 3 (I think) specifically applied the scripture this author appears to have in mind (from Joel?) to his time, starting from Pentecost. So the way I see it this was fulfilled in the 1st century before the weeds infiltrated the wheat and the foretold apostasy began.

Help with Israelite Example
by TheListener ini've searched and searched and can find nothing that specifically addresses this issue.
i've checked coc and isocf.

Every Israelite was born into a legal covenant relationship with Jehovah, started at Mt Sinai, so Jehovah legally obligated himself to keep dealing with them, forgiving them, despite all their wrong ways and apostasy. The Watchtower organisation and religion was not born into a covenant relationship with God, so it has no special relationship with God per se. God only deals with individual born again Christians, whichever religion they may be in, whether that be from the bible students, a JW, a Christadelphian, a biblical Unitarian, a United Church of God, or whatever (I personally doubt any are to be found amongst Babylonish Christendom in general, but that is just my view). Only the Israelites were 'Jehovah's Witnesses' and called his witnesses by divine mandate. That name mandate ended at Christ's death (Jesus never once uttering the name Jehovah as recorded in scripture). The hubristic replacement theology of JW's is therefore just that - one of numerous forms of replacement theology, and seriously flawed at that.

It was surreal. Your impressions of the "Monthly Awake!" service meeting?
by ezekiel3 inat our service meeting the conductor of "more emphasis on the bible!
" (the march kingdom ministry article discussing the monthly awake!
) routinely asked the questions, comments were read from the paragraph and there was a rediculous emphasis on the scriptures cited, even to the point that wt references were given that had nothing to do with the subject.

I reckon this change will definitely negatively impact on the JW preaching activity. It's going to be really boring offering a monthly magazine instead of a different one every fortnite. You know how it is: some Awake cover articles are just so lame it's an embarrassment to offer them to the public, so you only used to offer the ones that were slightly interesting. What are all the borg going to be offering now to ease the boredom - offer the Watchtower more? Shyea right! The Watchtower is even more boring and irrelevant for the public. This is probably why they are encouraging everyone to use their bibles more, cuz the magazine work is bound to drop off a bit. But of course the borg are lazy and can't be stuffed actually engaging people in serious biblical discussions; it's just so much easier to hand those pretty maggies out on a Saturday morn to all the bleary-eyed householders coming to the door in their dressing gowns. So no doubt there will be a greater emphasis on brochures and books too from now on to boost sales.

New World Order - Illuminati vs. WT Society
by lucky inbefore i start, i just want to say that this is not any sort of conspiracy-type thread and i don't believe russell was a member of the illuminati.. i just finished reading dan brown's angels&demons, before which i hadn't even heard of the illuminati.
it struck me as curious that the "new world order" as described in the book had some similarities with the society's teachings regarding events in revelation (including the name itself).
in particular, i found it interesting that the illuminati were/are seeking to destroy religion and establish a worldwide government.
-

of course e-watchman.com has a lot to say about this....the author reckoning that some illuminati globalist have infiltrated the WTBS leadership and that the Awake magazine has for years been serving the purpose of subtly spreading new world order/one world government pro UN propaganda.

demon attack in Kingdom Hall
by Noumenon in.
i once heard about a sister that was having a lot of trouble with demons, and apparently she had a bad demon attack in the kingdom hall.. anyone else heard of such a thing?
so much for the house of jehovah being some sort of refuge.. i have also heard of a witness who still experienced a demon attack despite calling out jehovah's name aloud.
