If you're reading this GET BACK TO CHOPPING WOOD!! We in the Midwest (U.S.) are about to get another blast of cold Canadian air this weekend. If you don't start warming it up some, we're going to have to light up a few of them beautiful trees you see out your window. Sounds like the perfect setting for pictures...(HINT, HINT).

Top of the Mountain
by OUTLAW ingood morning from the great white north,jw.com..right now i am sitting in a beautiful log cabin,as i look out my window i can see the lake,20ft.
from my doorstep.the ducks are fishing right in front of my window and another flock of geese have just left the lake flying south for the winter.a few days ago the trumpeter swans also flew south.
the top this mountain is breath taking,my front yard is 30 miles of lake.the lake reflects the colours of the sky,so there is a colauge of colours.a miriade of shades of blue, pink, red, silver, and the white of the odd cloud that go`s by..it took me a while to get a computer set up,way up here, just as well,i have had to chop a shitload of wood to get ready for the coming snow(i have only wood heat and i like it,lol).thank god it has been unusaly warm up here, and i have had time to prepare..i hope you are all well(at least most of you, lol)there are alot of newbies and old friends as i look at the board.i will enjoy talking with you(at least most of you, lol).so whats been happening at jw.com?there seems to be some sort of bill bowen vs ray franz thing going on,but i haven`t made out what it is,just yet.any other hot jw.com stories happen while i was gone?....i better get ready to go outside to chop some more wood,i`m told i`m going to need it,lol...outlaw

What do you live for?
by YoursChelbie ini have been wondering, .
before, while in the borg, many of us were under intense indoctrination of ideas like; "live for god", "look to the new system were everything will be perfect.." .
--not in those very words but you know what i mean... .

I live for the "NOW". And I've found that everytime I fall back into the past or jump ahead into the future the really Bad, Ugly Jerry shows up. And no one likes him, including me!

The People and the Dream
by joelbear ini miss my friends.
i love them.
i have attachments to them.

Wish I wasn't such a male about these things, but here goes anyway...
Last things first - don't give up on the dream. Throughout history there's been flickers of light that a peaceful clean and loving world can be had by all of us. Its a dream that isn't the exclusive property of any one religion or cult but the dream that resides in ALL of us. Its just that many have, through fear and despair, lost sight of it. Don't lose sight of it. It's really YOUR dream.
On the first, I too struggle with friendship. I'm luckily married to my friend. Were those at the hall really your friends? I don't know about you, but I've pretty much dismissed them as not! And where are new friends? Everywhere, and many are waiting to talk and listen (just like here).
So what are you looking for? Email me if you need someone to communicate with. Will it become a friendship? Who knows..your move! By the way, I love chess.

Yep, I've become a Powerball junkie...but as they say, somebody always wins (in contrast to our "we're going to live forever "x" jw friend's belief that they will - and only them). The thing that always got me was how the idependently wealthy brothers would "play" the stock market (in my mind truly just a form of gambling) but in the next breath condemn anyone who may have dropped a buck in lotto or a coin in a slot machine.

Just MTCW
On Mark Twain quote - true that the human creature sometimes is really a sick life form, but I've seen domestic dogs chase deer down in Northern Minnesota just for the fun of it (a poodle, beagle and collie mix) and PBS has shown many times how monkey and chimp colonies will horribly treat eachother. Maybe its that the human creature still hasn't risen to the definition we've given ourselves as to being civil and humane....
Which leads to the second point - TH, now that's really good - let's hurt those causing the animal pain..note point above. Capital punishment for those who murder, collateral damage (that's referring to all those Afghan children who gave their lives stomping out terrorism - and Bin Ladin still breathes!), and manditory long sentences for someone who gets messed up on drugs. Yep, we sometimes show the best at what sitting at the top of the food chain means.
Oh, and I agree... this thread sucks!

Best darn cat picture I've seen all day...nope, wasn't me, but if he isn't moving, I do need winter gloves....oh, and really, work is still the one four letter word that should never be spoken by someone who needs a second child-hood - and I personally think that's all of us!

Don't listen to any of them. My dear wife doesn't work outside the home and I wouldn't have it anyother way. She's happy (OK we'll wait for her reply), the kid's happy and I love it this way. Also, I want to be the only one coming home and kicking the cat (GAWD I HATE CATS! - oops wrong thread)...really, live your life so you're happy, 'cuz I've found when my wife is happy everyone else in the house is happy too! And that's what it is all about; everyone being happy, right???????????????????????????
