i am sure that many of us, even when we were in the truth, were uncomfortable with the notion that we had all the answers, but others just could not see the light.. i came across this great persian story today that illustrates the folly of thinking we have the only view of what is true.

incidentally, for those who have read his works, although it sounds like a deepak chopra story, it isnt.

it is a story told by an old persian scholar who lived and worked in delhi, india.. ==============================================================================.

now that my decision to leave the organization is made, there is definitely a sense of relief.

i know i'm leaving a controlling organization, not my faith in god.

so i'm still praying at various times during the day, but it has become a very odd thing now.

i have their bible and other books in thrift shops but reasoning with the scriptures i have never seen. u might have to go to kingdum hall. if u know someone thats a witness u might get one from them. it would have to me a nice person. hope this helps yucca

Born Again - what do they believe ?

we have neighbours who have been very sincere "born again" christians, for about ten years.

i know that quite a number of you on this forum are also born again, but my question is, just what do you believe?, i understand that you don't have any particular denomination and appear to join any church service as you wish.

when i used to go out on "field service", i seemed to get different understandings of the scriptures, from born again christians, some seemed to be of the opinion that they would be taken up into heaven and armageddon would wipe the earth clean and then they would be put back on the earth, others seemed to think that they would go to heaven and stay there ?

there have been wonderful answers here for you. i thought i would tell that there will be the thousand year reign of christ on earth from israel. i think the earth will be populated during that time. at the end of thousand years satan will be released one more time and people will go against the Lord. when they are conquered then i think a new earth and new heaven will come. it boggles my mind to think people will turn against jesus again. rev chapter 20,21,22 talks of this. god is alpha and omega and jesus is alpha and omega

i've tried to verify everything in that book and found it to be accurate.

acts 1:8 jesus said you are to be witnesses of me. the bible is a jesus book. old testament prophecies of jesus.the old testament is the new testament comcealed. the new testament is old testament revealed. it is not about jehovahs name. god bless

Reinventing the WBTS

i realise that i could well get shot down in flames here but it is my personal belief that the wbts will make a concerted effort to reinvent itself in the not too distant future.. i also believe that at this very moment they are working on ways to change the major doctrines that have become a millstone for them, without causing major problems and a mass exodus of the r&f.

as i see it they have to leave the vast majority of their teachings intact whilst removing or changing the problem ones.. by receiving some sort of new light on 607 b.c.e.

they would be able to change, or completely do away with, the significance of 1914. although this would need to be the ultimate aim i think it would be difficult to achieve without altering many of their current interpretations of scriptural prophesy.

i dont think they have a way out out. they need to admit they are wrong and they are not gods organization on earth. if they do people will leave. they have no way out. god bless yucca
