We just went to Sam Goody on Sunday...they said they were offering those 8 free issues of Entertainment Weekly, if we wanted it. We had to fill out a small form with name and addy, though.
Like Joanna said, are you sure he didn't do that?
last week i received a copy of entertainment magazine in the mail.
it had a subscription label with my husband's name and our address.
hmmm, i have no interest and didn't subscribe so i ask steve and he says no......... a couple days later i get a card that reads:.

ok this is not to say that only jws are anti-abortion or that persons are not capable of fluctuating on this issue for reasons other than orthodox jw reasons or completely unrelated to them, *phew*.
but what i was wondering and my question for the exjws here is this: .
UnDF'd...YES!!!
In that study you posted, it was a consensual, albeit illegal, relationship. The girl was scared, and needed help. It happens every day. When I was in high school, one of my best friends had an abortion after being impregnated by a 27 yr. old. We were 15 years old. She doesn't regret it, 6 years later.
Women are finally able to go to a clean, safe, clinical surrounding to have an abortion. If abortion is made illegal, it will still happen just as often. It will just be unsanitary, unsafe, and potentially deadly. If you've never seen the first "If These Walls Could Talk" movie about abortion, go rent it.
Planned Parenthood also does much more than just abortion. They provide contraceptives to women who could otherwise not afford it. They have clinics in poorer countries to provide free pre-natal care, and sex education to women and girls who do not otherwise have access. Currently, they are working to get contraceptives covered on health insurance.
So, yes, I am still a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood.

ok bucking the trend here, but there was some kms i liked, alot of stick has been given to "gods loyal love"....well i liked that one.
nice melody.. i think song 4 "gods promise of a paradise" too.
and song number 15 "life without end at last".....remember this was in the brown book....still like that one, especially at conventions, always guaranteed to be on the sunday programme, still get teary eyed at that one.. what i want to know is what happened to "keep your eyes on the prize"....i can remember writing those words out on a sheet and hanging it in my room, surely the classic jw kingdom melody of all time...guaranteed at conventions circa 70's/80/s......still miss it, and hum it even now occasionaly.
I always liked "A Victory Song", and "Fear Them Not"...they were kinda dark, a little angry even. Those two songs made me especially zealous. I was so ready to die for my god, should the need have arisen. Glad those days are over.
Oh, and I still catch myself humming one that wasn't in the songbook:
My name is Adrienne
I love Jehovah,
I'll serve him always eternally
If I obey him, he'll show me favor
In paradise I'll be
I learned that when I was 2 or 3, and I'll never forget it.

This is an issue that I feel very strongly about. I am pro-choice; nobody else has the right to tell me what to do with my body. I am a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood and what they stand for. I don't know if I would ever have an abortion, or if I even could, but nobody has the right to take away that choice.

so i'm helping out my mother with her garage sale this weekend.
kinda boring sitting around in the heat (although i can't complain too much since we were in a nice patch of shade and had a decent breeze).
a "customer" pulls in and my mother quietly whispers to me "isn't that so-n-so's dad (a dub girl i went to school with).
in the event they die, the parents have it written in a will that the kids will be raised by someone in the hall who is active
My mother did that, too. If anything happened to her, I was to be raised by an elder and his family.
But, after my mom was DF'd, the family said they wouldn't be comfortable with that arrangement, becaue of my mom's "status". Ironically, the oldest girl in that family has been df'd for about 4 years, and is known around town for her um...partying skills.

I can't imagine life without music. It's gotten me thru a lot of bad times.
Azaria,
I'm with you on that. At some of the roughtest spots in my life, music was what got me through, maybe the only thing. It has such incredible power.

Tori Amos - Playboy Mommy
In my platforms
I hit the floor
Fell face down
Didn't help my brain out
Then the baby came
Before I found
The magic how
To keep her happy
I never was the fantasy
Of what you want
Wanted me to be
Don't judge me so harsh little girl
So
You got a playboy mommy
But when you tell em my name
And you want to cross that
Bridge all on your own
Little girl they'll do you no harm
Cause they know
Your playboy mommy
But when you tell em my name
From here to Birminghman I got a few friends
I never was there
Was there when it counts
I get my way
You're so like me
You seemed ashamed
Ashamed that I was
A good friend of American soldiers
I'll say it loud here by your grave
Those angels can't
Ever take my place
Somewhere where the orchids grow
I can't find those church bells
That played when you died
Played Gloria
Talkin bout
Hosanah
Don't judge me so harsh little girl
You got a playboy mommy
Come home
But when you tell them soldiers my name
And cross that bridge all on your own
Little girl they'll do you no home
Cause they know your playboy mommy
I'll be home
I'll be home
To take you in my arms
This song is on Tori's "From the Choirgirl Hotel" CD...it was written after she had a miscarriage. It makes me ache when I listen to it.
first, i never was a jw, but since a dear friend of mine is one, i'm here to learn from the human elements in order to give her quiet assistance in leaving someday (soon, i hope).... i love reading.
my favorite author thru the years has been cs lewis.
i read narnia in hs, and loved the last book the best (last battle).
This is by no means complete; just off the top of my head.
