  of all the damage done by years of warped watchtower teachings, one point stands out:.

  the degradation - or complete removal - of critical thinking ability.. while many wrongs exist, it would be hard to find any other that generates such a continuing pattern of needless suffering.

  Rosemarie, Hi!: I definitely believe sisters have a worse deal than men when it comes to elders looking into "fornication" matters. It's as if the guy is almost expected to sew his oats but, ah!, the girl shouldn't let him so she's more liable!!

  I also believe many elders get off on hearing the juicy details: "How far did you go?", "How many times did you do it?", "Did you have oral sex?", etc. I bet the elders queue up for the juicy JCs! I remember one elder confiding in me (I was a well-thought of MS at the time) about a couple in our congregation. They were married to different partners but the wife of the guy spilled the beans on them. I got to learn some most intimate details and the elder was obviously enjoying himself telling me. So, yes, I'd say sisters do have it worse.

  Wild,

  Nikki is one beautiful young girl. Please give her a great BIG ((((((((((HUG))))))))))))) from all in our house - that's FOUR BIG HUGS, NOW!!!

  So absolutely saddened to learn of the tragic circumstances of Nikki's dad. But let's be positive, Nikki's beautiful, she's undoubtedly intelligent and she's got some great years ahead of her.

  He married a really sweet girl, who he cheats on and treats like crap. BUT he is MR. Ministerial Servant now who goes on sheparding calls with Daddy. A real "example" to everyone of an honest "youth" who progressed down the right path.

  we have the price is always right game show where the elder gets to bid on just how important his life is compaired to the number of dissfellowshipped ones he disfellowshipped.

  and the lucky elder then gets to bid on how good he can spin the wheel when instead of it having a dollar and cents on it; it would have the many different ways he is able to disfellowship someone and he gets disfellowshipped/ a set up.. or what we could have is maybe a family fewd.

  maybe have a couple families come in and try to guess the answers to:.

  Goodness that picture of yours is, well, you look so damn tasty...................

  Was that a true story? Here's a true story:

  A sister in my ex-cong, who'd been divorced before she got baptised, went about as a dutiful sister for a couple of years and, having had to start out again, worked hard to bring the money in. She met a worldly guy at work and ended getting disfellowshipped - before ending up marrying him. He ripped her off, she lost all her money, he cheated on her and she ended up getting divorced - but got reinstated after attending meetings for about six months to a year.

  Moving on a couple of years, this previously lovely looking woman, now looking gaunt, met up with another worldly fellow who was single. He learnt she was a JW and thought so much of her that he started studying. The elders warned her not to have anything to do with the man, even though they had genuine feelings for each other. The sister complied with the elders' counsel and the man she loved exited the scene.

  Some time later, at a District Convention, the sister noticed a familiar guy sitting in the audience. Yes, you've guessed it, and he was now a brother! Unfortunately, he wasn't alone - his sister wife was sat with him!

  Elders are prats!

  i bowed my head and closed my eyes, because i'm a bit tired.

  Are you saying that there is no evidence that evolution, as a concept, exists or has taken place, or are you basing your opinion on a cultic fundamentalist view that the Bible must be adhered to at all times ( a view that I thought you had rejected )?

  You know jolly well through our numerous chats that I have no faith in the Bible any more. Not just because I don't THINK it's true but because I KNOW it isn't. All the books in the Bible were NOT considered inspired when they were originally written (ref. Keeler, B. C. A Short History of the Bible 1881, 2002, ISBN 1-58509-205-3).

  I cannot prove whether evolution is a fact or not. I just don't believe in it. I have never read any overwhelmingly convincing evidence that evolution actually took place or is still taking place. That doesn't mean I believe in a Creator, either. I'm saying I just don't know. Show me someone who knows and he's either a saint or a liar.

  I think the bottom line is that no-one really knows if God exists. I look at the ordiliness of the universe and cannot for one moment believe it all came about by chance. I cannot believe in evolution. I believe that there is an incredibly powerful force out there. But as for God, I just don't know - none of us do!

  These days, after my experience in the Borg, I want proof. I know that nature is beautiful because I can see it. I know that the universe is vast and orderly through both sight and learning. I know that life is incredibly complex.

  This is a good thread, Ash. It is something all of us have asked at some time, whether we believe in God or not.

  I just don't know......................

  The Horsemen of the Apocalipse NOW!!!

  it takes only a few minutes watching cnn to realize that the 4 horsemen of the apocalipse are riding back again.

  who knows this time what the outcome of their riding will be.

  undoubtedly however, this will turnout to be again good numbers for the wt this year.

  i love to flower garden, i have a really nice one in front of my house.. i have.

  holly hocks, primrose, lilacs, daisy's, oriental poppy's.

  i also have miniture roses along my sidewalk and i'm getting a peony tree very soon.
