my wife knows i have many douts about the wts because of things that have happened that have made me question certain teachings.i have been inactive for 6 yrs now and i have no desire to ever become active again.i love my wife very much(she is presently inactive also) and i wish she would see my point of view or at least look into the society's past but she's a die-hard jw,hanging on no matter what they do or say.. anyways,we had a chat last week and she told me to write down all the questions i have and then she'll do everything to get me the answers.i'm assuming she'll give the question list to an elder she believes she can trust and he'll come up with logical answers to all my questions, then i'll humbly return to all my meetings and progress spiritually.. i'm asking everyone's help to draw up a good list even though i am not very confident of getting any real,logical or intelligent answers to all of them.i understand if the elders are stumbled by these questions,they might take the easy route-label me an apostate and try to df me.if that's the case then i'll stand my ground and hopefully my wife will see that nobody really wants to answer my questions.. a co once tried to answer my questions about 607 vs 587.i told my wife when he runs out of real proof and answers he'll tell me to wait on jehovah.that's exactly what happened!!!!!.

I can't think of a faster way to give them ample reason or evidence to silence you by disfellowship than to write down a bunch of questions for them of which the only answer they'll be able to come up with is "wait on jehovah". Doing this will only demonstrate your answer of "NO" to their pivotal question "do you believe the WTS and the FDS to be the lone organization dispensing spiritual truth".
I can see that it is a tempting thing to do if you really gotten to the point where you don't give a rats ass and want to demonstrate to her how controlling and intolerate the WT is of questioning them too strongly though.
I said to her if the WTS said the sky was green would you believe it?She looked out the window and said well,sometimes it looks turquoise to me.
She and my wife must be twins. I put a similar question to her and she brushed it off the very same sarcastic and condescending way.

there is a movie called "equilibrium" this movie is a prototype of being a jehovah's witness, in it there is a hierarchy that is a ruthless goverment and the spiritual source for all thought till a hero comes and awakens them.
this is a must see movie for all witness's.
i don't know, it just made me think of the witness's during all the time i was watching it.
Believe it or not, MY JW wife actually likes this movie a lot moreso for the action scenes than anything else. In true witness fashion, the underlining story went right over her head.

The parallels in that movie compared to witness life and the attitude of the WT organization is striking to say the least.
i remember back 8 years ago when i left the organization the elders were being called "jehovah's special appointed ones".
i thought to myself that this was starting to become a clergy class.
i mean if that doesn't set you about the rest of the flock, i don't know what does.
Maybe elders aren't paid but Co's annd Do's all the provided meals, clothing, housing, autos, and health insurance paid for off the backs of the local yokal JWs.....they're paid.
They've just given it a new definition.
since most congregations have sufficient elders and ms, i was wondering what size increase in numbers in a small amount of time would cause them trouble?.
imagine if everybody that's df'd would all go back to the hall at the same time.
that would surely be a huge headache for them.

For something like this to properly be tested 2 or 3 million would not only have to go back, but order loads of litterature, not pay for it, and then disappears after about 3 or 4 months.
Would be interesting to watch the congregants scramble to pick up the tab for all that litterature ordered and dispensed after the WT invoices them.
Surely, they won't be tempted to dip into the "worldwide fund" to pay congregation expenses.
my mother told me today that its going to be held a special meeting in all congregations worldwide at march 7.. .
some new information is going to be released, and its very very secret indeed.
we are not supposed to tell anyone what we heard at this meeting to the ones who have the meeting later the same week.

anyway, i have children from a previous marriage and at times disagree with my husband on discipline, how things are explained, etc.
This whole thread is an example of why a man should never marry a women with children!
Or, more importantly, noone should marry a weak JW who promises that they'll always respect your opinion and that they would never go back for reinstatement.

These are little kids here I'm talking about, K and 1 st grade mind you, not adolescents or young adults. He is very rigid with consequences, takes toys and things away for indefinite periods of time. He has never used a Watchtower or anything, just the NWT.
If you think that's harsh, just let him start taking the little tykes to the KH, where he'll be applauded for literally beating them into submission.
Whatever you do, don't let that happen. There are many a things any number of Ex-JW posters here wish they could take back that they've done to their kids in order to get them to tow the WT line.

I wonder how he would feel if you treated him the same way.....being "rigid" in imposing "consequences" for his actions. I wonder would he see it as loving discipline dispensed by Jehovah himself if you took away his "toys" for indefinite periods of time.
